When did I say they got unlucky??? I'm not one of the guys that said any FA would sign here because we have the most money no matter what.

I wish we added one of Robinson or Watkins but i'm not gonna cry over losing out on WR's. I said i'd be pissed if we do miss out on the oline and a top Center. I care more about the line.

Having the most money is step one. Not being a risk-averse p***y cake and actually having the confidence to trust your scouting/due diligence to offer the most money is step two.

Once Cousins signs elsewhere, and the Jets resign McCown those PSL’s on the after market are gonna tank further then they did last year, I’m so glad I foreseen this sh*t show once they extended Bowles, and sold my 2 PSL’s for a 600% profit.

You kind of can. We all expected them to get players. Now we clearly are seeing the side effects of being a terrible team. You can think one thing and then realize another.

It's the GM's job to "realize another" before it happens. If players don't want to come here that's on the GM.

It's very early in the process but if we don't get Cousins, Macc will need to really pull a rabbit out of his hat to turn this around. You can't even carry over all the cap space to don't use.

This year, I wouldn't be miserable if "can't miss" guys fell to us.  Only because I get the feeling this year, with trades and just who's up there, 4 QBs are going to go very early.

I'm lying of course, I'll be miserable because if that happens, it means that we're again not getting a QB.  But, unlike in past years, 4 QBs could easily go quickly, forcing some actual talent down.  Not just decent players who play unimportant positions.

This is exactly Macc's strategy. Protect his neck at all times by standing pat and picking guys he can't be criticized for picking in the 1st.

Right but they still will probably resign John Brown and they do have David Johnson. But I do understand your point.

I guess they could sign brown again. I mean I want a guy that only broke 700yds 1 time and is missing 6 games a year.

Word, but you’re about eight hours away from those two centers being off the board and the brain trust is out there getting powdered up to appear in Kirk Cousins’ “Boats and Ho’s” video.

This boils down to, “you can’t blame Maccagnan for putting together a sh*t team that nobody wants to play for.”

just when I thought you turned a logic corner you're back to this tripe..

sigh..

how about we wait until any NFL team can actually sign anyone?

Tore  his ACL in preseason if I remember right

He'd be a nice coup for us, big body guy put up a big year on a bad team. At this point I'd be satisfied with him or trading for Bryant but the odds of either of those moves happening are next to nothing

A lot of it could be that players/agents are predicting Bowles/Macc are gone after the year and then the new regime comes in an cleans house (again). Meaning Jets contracts are only as good as the guarantee, no more, no less. Period.

We were never in on any of the free agents that have been signed already. It's a weak FA market and it's Cousins or bust.... Sammy Watkins or Allen Robinson were never coming here

Would have been much easier to lure Cousins had we signed one of the two.

Can’t speak for Lupz, but I’d like them to draft well enough that we don’t have to go trawling for dogsh*t on the open market every two years.

I'm just struggling to understand why more players haven't flocked to Jamal Adam's leadership?

Any Jet fans have interest in Jeremiah Attaochu? Problem with Jerry is injuries. He is still just 24 years old and has 10 sacks and 20 tackles for loss in 34 games. So looks to be a productive edge player.

Here's someone who has done their research.  Definitely worth the investment, I

loved him coming out of Ga. Tech

The only positions where talent could fall to us that is a premium position in that scenario is really OLB. Nelson plays guard, Barkley I'm sure will be gone by 6, there really aren't any OT worth the 6th pick. I get what you're saying which is what makes signing Cousins attractive but I really don't want any position player at 6 not named Chubb or Barkley

If 4 QBs go in the top 5, we're guaranteed 1 of Chubb/Barkley.  That said, I see us losing out on Cousins, and Macc will have to decide if he has what it takes to make the deal with the Giants.

It looked like Tom had turned a logic corner, but in reality he was just backing his brain car into an irrational k-turn so he could make that big wide left onto Bias Blvd. and ride it all the way to SOJFsville

lol, well if you have that much money to get the Air Force to fuel you up multiple times and give you an escort can you just buy the team. Surely you wouldn't do worse than the current owners.

I feel like we have a deal in place with the Colts. I think Miami/Buffalo will only be able to get up to #5, just enough to make us trade up.

if indy trades out of the top 5, we're getting chubb

if indy does not trade out of the top 5, we're getting either mayfield or allen, but if mccags won't take allen then i think he may look to trade back with a team like arizona to see if they're game for taking him.  if mccags is too much of a wimp to trade up, maybe he can get a #1 next year by trading back.  then the next gm can get us a qb.

On the upside, Mac hasn’t made one bad signing yet!

I actually don't have a problem with anything that's happened today.  Outside of not improving the OL, maybe.

What's problematic is the same thing that's been problematic for a while.  The Jets are in an OK, but not strong position to draft a QB, and Cousins probably isn't coming here.

I’d like to give a huge shoutout to our veteran posters here @ JN for their dedication at being negative and sarcastic...most of us know with the signings of AR, Watkins, Norwell, Keenum at their CURRENT REPORTED COST...posts would be changing from, “Mac ain’t bout that life” to “why are we overpaying injury riddled/mediocre players.”

You know who ya’ll are...you’re the real mvp’s!

until buffalo offers a boatload of picks and mccagnan offers a 2nd and bilal powell.

I really hate the idea of waiting at 6, I think it's hard to believe at least one of the QBs isn't there but if we miss on Cousins is it really worth risking that?
