TnT
Being a Canes die hard I’ve got a good look at this guy the past couple years. I’d like to see the Jets jump on him if he slips into the 4th due to his season ending ankle surgery in 2017. Kid was a beast for real. Running back Mark Walton was a “second-day pick” entering his junior season, Pauline said, and NFL teams are eager to learn how his injured right ankle is doing. “I liked his skills but the ankle injury is a question mark,” said Pauline. “I had him rated as a third-rounder.” Coach Mark Richt has several times declined to clarify the nature of Walton’s injury, such as whether it was a bone break or a ligament tear. In announcing Oct. 8 that Walton would miss the remainder of the season, Richt said players who had Walton’s injury recover “100 percent and never have an issue with that type of thing again.” He later said it “wasn’t anything that would really hurt you for the long term.” If Walton’s medical reports are clean, Pauline said, NFL teams could be encouraged to draft him in the middle rounds, believing his ankle could allow him to play beyond a standard four-year rookie contract. “If he happens to fall, you know the combine medicals painted a picture of him as a one-contract type of guy.” 2017 2016
