Saquon vs Minkah?

  1. 1. If it came down to Saquon or Minkah with the #6 pick and the Jets HAD to pick one or the other, I would.......

    • STRONGLY Favor Saquon Barkley

    • Favor Saquon Barkley

    • Be Happy with Either One, but Lean to Barkley

I strongly favor Barkley because he's an offensive player. Im not in any way feeling the Jets going defense in the first round for yet another year. The Jets should be addressing offense and offensive line with their first 3 to 4 picks.

They only way I can understand going defense is if there's a can't miss pass rusher sitting there. Pass rushers are hard to find outside of the top rounds. CB's can be found in various spots in various rounds in comparison.

If you would have said Bradley Chubb or something then I would have probably thought about it more. How many times can we continue drafting corners and dlinemen that aren't pass rushers? The only way I can agree with a defensive player, or I should say, the only way that I won't fly off the handle if we don't pick an offensive player is if that defensive player is a pass rushing nightmare. I don't see that guy in this years draft though.

Strongly favor Barkley. I know people don't love the idea of taking a RB in the top ten (understandably) but I think Barkley has Hall of Fame potential. He's not just the best RB in the draft he's also the most explosive offensive play-maker... And unlike just about every other top ten prospect the bust potential is basically zero.

I just don't see how we can draft another CB/S hybrid after using our top two picks on safeties last year. Even if the front office believes he can be a lockdown corner we just can't allocate that many resources to the defensive backfield. If we do go defense it HAS to be an edge rusher.

when it's all said and done Minkah is probably not a top 5 pick.   willing to bet money that Denzel Ward is the first DB drafted (pending a sweet 40) and teams might even grade Derwin James higher than Minkah on intangibles. James is like the alpha dog Jamal Adams type. Minkah some scouts question his fire i think he ends up 10-15 instead of 5-10

Just a random note but I would much rather have Sony Michel than Chubb. Not sure if Michel is entering the draft. But I really like him, in some ways he is better than Barkley but def. a better prospect than Chubb. I also like Josh Adams out of ND. My biggest concern with drafting Barkley 6th overall is the fact that a trade down scenario could yield us Adams or Michel, guys that could be head in the 2nd round and IMO could end up being just as good as Barkley (even if not as versatile).

hes offense so cool. I don't want Chubb at all because I want to build the offense. Im just saying that if the jets thought Chubb was a premier pass rusher then I could accept going defense there. Other than pass rusher I don't want to hear of any other defensive position in the first or 2nd round of this draft.

Ok. So I think you meant Bradley Chubb? the DE. not Nick Chubb, the RB?

The definitive abbreviation in the thread is 'DB' not 'CB'  Unless the description of the player is dominant lock down cover corner there should be zero talk of the player.

I haven’t looked much at Denzel Ward, he has been a name that keeps popping up higher, and higher so if he is viewed as a possible shunt down CB who can run with WR’s, get his head around without any I issues to locate the ball, and has ball skills to boot then I’d be fine with him IF we signed a ton of offensive players and Cousins.

You know it’s bad when you envy the Browns!

Sam Darnold, Saquan Barkley, Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman, and David Njouko!

Man that has the making of an unstoppable offense no later then 2019 season IF the coaches don’t **** it up.

And that’s all without spending a .01 of their 100+ million in cap space, or thinking what they could add with their 3 other picks in the top 65!

I've watched the Jets over 30 years and can't remember them drafting a stud RB.

Cousins, Barkley, and O-line in round 2 would be a friggin' dream.

Matt Snell?  John Riggins?  Freeman McNeil?  Oh.....30 years......um.....nevermind

Claims he's watched the Jets for 30 years, yet he doesnt remember when the Jets drafted a fellow Penn St. grad at #2 overall - directly in front of 2 HOF players and a Gator Alum who holds every single all time rushing record in the NFL and is also in the HOF.

#real fan

Everyone says that you are not supposed to draft a RB high in the first round, but teams have done so in the last few drafts and have looked pretty smart.  When Leveon Bell gets $10+/year, teams will eventually start to draft RBs higher, because it is cheaper than signing them.

I don't see Barkley there at 6.  I can see Chubb there.

Chubb v Nelson-you have to pick the guy that can rush the passer.

Nelson v Ward-if you did not sign a CB, you need that.

I hate the idea of taking a RB at #6 overall and this is still a no brainer you take Barkley.  Fitz is no different than Adams, Maye, Miles, etc. Same player.

Fitzpatrick is the same player as Rontez Miles? You're just talking out your butt now
