We already have Powell and McGuire is my point... we don't need a third.  And there was nothing in tape that screamed sleeper.  He is good not great... and depending on who we get at center and the deep talent pool, we need great.

That is my point. Even with Georgia's line there is no way he is better then Chubb or Michel and they weren't even in the conversation for Heisman, so that in itself is asinine statement.

I said he's not as good as those guys and I said dont wait for him.  Take Michel if he's there in the 2nd.

He can still be a sleeper, you disagree, cool.  I think he is a sleeper.  He's a freak athlete who was highly productive vs. SEC D's on a sh*tty team.  We shall see who is right.

And I meant, if you put him behind Georgia's oline in a premier program, he'd be talked about in the 3rd round and would have had Heisman consideration.  Michel and Chubb didnt get Heismans nods because they were running back by committee.  Not recognizing that, is asinine.

Q:  name the last offensive player on the jets to make a pro bowl who was drafted by the jets

Q2: name the last offensive skill player on the jets to make a pro bowl who was drafted by the jets

the answers to these questions are more pathetic than the answers to yours unfortunately

We haven’t used a first round pick on an offensive player in 9 mother effin years

I think the Vikings are playing with fire right now. They are going to allow Keenum and Bridgewater hit free agency and go all in on Cousins. If Cousins comes here or anywhere other than Minny, they could end up with nobody AND having to seriously pay up to move up in the draft to fix a qb issue. For a team so close to the SB, they could really screw this up.

Agreed! F@@k defense, I want to score points. We have concentrated on defense for so long, and what has that done for us. This is a scoring league, the rules are constantly changing to foster more scoring. It would be a nice change to draft the best wr of rb in a draft class.

Sometimes, taking big risks is what a franchise needs to make that leap. I would be OK with us trying it sometimes.

If we wanna play that game, Cousins record says we should pay Keenum more than captain Kirk.

Best of luck convincing anyone else of THAT idea.  The market is about to prove it rather silly.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings are set to watch three quarterbacks hit free agency: Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum.

Speaking from the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday, coach Mike Zimmer was acutely aware that his team must make the right choice with their next signal-caller.

"It's important for myself and Rick [Spielman] and the organization we pick the right guy that can help continue to move forward," Zimmer said. "If we don't do that, then I'll probably get fired."

The coach spoke well of each of his quarterbacks, not ruling out bringing any of the trio back. Several times during his 15-minute Q&A, Zimmer noted there are question issues with each quarterback: Bradford has a still lingering knee issue; Bridgewater is coming off a devastating injury and hasn't really played in two years; Keenum has had one breakout season preceded by some shaky outings outside of Pat Shurmur's system.

"The process that we're going through right now with Sam, Teddy and Case, we're trying to determine exactly where these three guys are," Zimmer said. "Teddy is a guy that two years ago played fantastic. We thought he was a very ascending player. Obviously has a terrible knee injury, don't get to see him play in real, live action in basically two years. So there's the question with him.

"The question with Sam is two years ago he plays in 15 games, starts, plays well. This year, he plays in one game and gets hurt, so you go back and look at his track record. You go back with Case. He plays outstanding this year, and you go back and look at what he's done in the past and what he's done this year. Then really what we have to try to do is figure out what is the best scenario for us and understanding that trying to answer these questions on these three guys and try to go from there. So that's with Rick and myself and Rob and how it affects the salary cap and how it affects the rest of our football team."

The Vikings could also elect to chase other QBs in free agency, notably Kirk Cousins.

Zimmer sounded like a man not overly keen on spending a ton of cash -- like the kind it will take to land Cousins -- on a quarterback.

"We've won 40 games in the last four years because we've had a good football team, and I want to make sure with our team that we continue to build and improve, continually improve on defense," he said. "They told me today ... we're 30-4 when we score 21 points, so it's important that we don't lose the defensive part of the game because we keep the game close. So all these things become a factor.

"So after we get here, after we get done looking at some of these young draftable guys, so we'll kind of sit down and figure out the direction we're going. But I feel very confident really in all three guys [Bradford, Keenum, Bridgewater]. I love all three of them. They're great people. I love how they work. They understand how we do things there as a team and the way we go about our business."

The question moving into the new league year is which, if any, will continue to do their business wearing Vikings purple.

The way I'm reading this...you're starting QB next year will be Case Keenum because that's the best Mac can do. He'll double down with Riley Fergus in the 4th and take Minkah at #6 because BAP and the 5-11 train will continue on choo-choo!

That is absolutely 100% the most likely of the worst case scenarios out there.  There are several very bad scenarios....but you nailed the worst one that is the most likely to come true.  Get ready for, "Case Keenum is a playoff winning QB and Jeremy Bates will take him to the next level."  Ugh.

Lets be honest, Todd Bowles has zero interest in developing and especially, playing a inexperienced QB.  There is a 0% chance that the week 1 starter isnt some type of veteran.  If it isnt Cousins (which I doub it is), then it's Keenum, if they miss out on Keenum, maybe Taylor if the Bills release him...or they just stick with Todd's favorite player he's ever coach in McCown.  But bet your bottom dollar, they could trade up to #1 overall and the Jets are still trotting out some mediocre veteran on week 1.

Keenum is making sense to me because he's a perfectly gutless QB that Todd will love and Big Mac was the guy to give Keenum a shot when he went undrafted.

I think the 6 pick needs to be Davenport or Quentin Nelson.  Barkley I like but I think the colts are drafting him and edge rusher is a way bigger need.  I don’t see any wrs worth a top 6 pick

Quentin Nelson would make any rb look good with his blocking

Todd Bowles + Baker Mayfield = next Jet disaster

Question - Is Nelson a fit in Jeremy Bates' expected zone blocking scheme.  I'm already hearing that Carpenter is miscast and in the Bates offense.  I like Nelson a ton, but he would need to be a fit here.  Asking because I simply don't know.

It's all over the news today. Rapsheet just dropping bombs about both sides willing and wanting to make it work. At this point, only the most disillusion of Jets fans still think we can compete with what Minny has on the table. Defense. Running game. Those things called Wide Receivers. Coaches. big breasted hairy Viking broads... we're not even in the game.

So now what, can we finally get back to Mayfield vs trading up for Rosen?

Well when you put it that way, we really don’t have a chance.?

No idea what blocking scheme bates wants to run.  It would be jet-like to pass on a generational talent like Nelson because our OC who won’t even be here in 2019 has a scheme
