there is only 1 scenario where a team would not consider trading their pick...and that is a cant miss prospect at QB. aside from that everyone should always be opened to listening...esp with what it takes to get up to 2 these days. in this draft specifically, there is clearly no cant miss players...

Would our pick at #6 and the two 2nd rounders do the trick?

i'd hate that deal. 6 + 2 potential starters for the second best QB....i'd rather take the 3rd best QB and keep the 2 potential starters (insert joke about jets 2nd round picks here).

I would not give up both second picks in any move up scenario.

If a reporter asks a GM "would you consider___________"  The answer is always going to be yes. "Mr GM, would you consider trading your mother to sex traffickers for a 7th round pick?" asks the reporter.  "Sure we would consider that. Always looking for opportunities to improve the team" replies Mr GM. Just because they reply to some reporter that they would consider it, doesn't mean they really are considering it.

Exactly. No GM would ever say no for the reasons you stated and because they don't ever want to give away that they are dead set on a certain strategy.

Mac must see these Giant execs all the time at charity and civic events. Start brown nosing and get it done..................if you can't get #1.

and draft whom, if darnold is gone?

the problem with these qbs is that there are qbs worth taking in the first round but except for darnold their flaws are too risky to trade up to #2.

it's possible that only 1 qb is taken in the top 5, if denver gets cousins.  it would be very interesting to see what mccags did if he had to choose between rosen and mayfield and allen.

It’s Rosen ALL DAY. And that’s not just my opinion. That’s literally every GM’s mindset besides the Browns(Who Rosen doesn’t like). Rosen is the guy. He’s the guy. He’s the guy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am sick and tired of getting the team you guys deserve.

There ain't no way the Giants are trading the pick to the Jets/Cowboys/Redskins/Eagles. That's even assuming they are actually willing to trade the pick not spewing typical pre-draft lies.

In addition to having to make the best offer, the Jets may have to sweeten it even more.  But the Giants have to be smart.  YEs we share a building but be confident that you are doing whats best for the Giants no matter what their roommates are doing.

I don't think the Giants would nix a trade with the Jets that was to their benefit.  Granted the teams had some issues over the shared stadium in the past but the GMs are both relatively new and hopefully focused on improving their own teams, not trying to undermine each other.  I dislike the Yankees far more than I dislike the Giants and I'm still fine with a Mets-Yankees trade if it benefits the Mets.

To me, it comes down to what the Giants value in the draft.  If they absolutely want Rosen or Barkley, they have to stay put.  If they would rather land Nelson, Minkah or Chubb, then trading down to 6 and getting a 2019 1st or something equivalent would be a great move for them.  I don't see them dropping to 21 but I could see DEN slipping in ahead of us to the 2-spot.

Cousins will be a Viking. Nothing anyone can do about it. Macc needs to get us a QB in the draft to go with whatever never has been placeholder he gets.

He will be a Jet. They CAN'T do 60 guaranteed right away. That will win the day along with Bates and the idea of building around him as the franchise

I absolutely agree.  But those who say they would never trade will point to the fact that they never HAVE traded as proof that it will never happen.  There's really no arguing the point  It will continue to be truth until it isn't.  Hopefully this year :)

That new GM don’t give a damn about a cross town rivalry if the offer is good. That’s a fan thing. Front offices don’t do that crap dude.

I would love that my friend. Matter of fact I was saying exactly that a week ago. I just don't see it with the Vikings being obvious suitors. With the extra 10-11 million in cap teams are getting I think they will come close enough on money for him. They are the most complete team without a QB in the league. He will make them an instant contender. I think that is what he wants. Give me the choice though I do 100% hope you are right.
