I was at the combine (I'll write an article later this week) but I have to say I'm coming around a bit on Allen. He looked BY FAR the best QB at the combine, in throwing drills. He was very accurate and that arm is just wow. I need to break down some film to really go one way or another, but I was honestly surprised at how good he was. It wasn't just the arm, but the accuracy on deep passes, and leading receivers.

To your bit about Allen, any concern that he did it with shorts on without any defense on the WR or in his face flushing him from the pocket? Numbers don't lie, Allen played at a lesser school against lesser competition and played worse than his career numbers indicate against the best competition he faced (TD-TO ratio and completion percentage) I know he played well in the Senior bowl which is something but I'm not oo-ed and ahh-ed by any QB b/c of their combine performance, look at all the workout warriors who turn bust: Stephen Hill, Vernon Gholston, etc.

I thought him, Mayfield, and Rosen all looked good, but Allen looked the best. It wasn't just like getting the guys to catch the ball, but it hit them in stride, 50 yards down the field. I'll see if I can get my hands on some tapes to see what he was dealing with. It could be a case of not having anyone open, but I can't tell from the TV angles. I went into the combine with "Dear God, anyone but Allen" feeling. But his performance gave me pause, not in the 40 or vertical, but the accuracy. I was expecting some dud throws like Hackenberg, but that wasn't really the case. Even when the WRs were running the 40, he (also other QBs) was warming up and his throws were on the money. Plenty of teams draft guys they never had a meeting with (Broncos traded up for Cutler and had no contact with him prior). And look how much of a secret the Jets kept meeting Hackenberg. Just saying alot of times it's trickery I can't speak on the Denver/Cutler situation but, as much as the Jets kept the Hackenberg thing "a secret"...there was certainly some interest reported and I can speak with certainty that people in the know knew about it. Plus, only the private workout was a big secret. We met with him on more than one occasion between the Combine and PSU's pro day. There hasn't been chatter, interviews, anything of the sort for that matter regarding Lamar, as far as I know. Honestly, if we fail to trade up and/or Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, and Allen are ALL somehow gone before our pick, I still don't think we'll take Jackson. I think the team just goes BPA (OL, EDGE, CB) at 6 and focuses on Falk, Rudolph and Lauletta later on at that point. That's just my feelings with the info I have. MDL_JET
http://www.espn.com/fantasy/football/story/_/id/22690504/fantasy-football-trades-make-dynasty-leagues-free-agency I spoke to a Jets coach at the combine just after Matt Forte announced his retirement and was given the impression that Powell would not be asked to handle a larger role going forward. Instead the coach said the team will add an impact back to the mix. That would certainly limit touches for second-year McGuire and perpetually underutilized Powell. The time to explore a trade is now, while the depth chart still looks fairly barren. Cmonnnnnnnnnn Michel Oh and also this, not a draft rumor but still I asked a Jets coach about the prospects of 2017 wide receiver draft selections Stewart (third round) and Hansen (fourth round). The coach lit up at the mention of Hansen, adding that "he's a player." He also said Stewart was a talented player, but it was clear there's high hopes for Hansen and that Stewart is more of a long shot. Hansen played 104 more snaps than Stewart last season. Chase Edmonds, correct? I would hope they target a HB sooner than his projected range but he’s a solid prospect nonetheless.

Patriot Killa
#Jets Have competition for Josh McCown’s services in #Cardinals. ARIZ also looking at Brock Osweiler and wouldn’t rule out trade for Payton Lynch or Nick Foles. Cardinals must add 2-3 QBs prior to draft. My boi! Quote Chase Edmonds - RB - Rams Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline passes along that Fordham RB Chase Edmonds "looked terrific in position drills" during Thursday's pro day. There were 18 teams on hand to watch Edmonds strut his stuff. Per Pauline, the 5-foot-9, 205-pounder was particular adept in pass-catching drills. The analyst relays that "Edmonds ran more than a dozen routes coming out of the backfield and lined up as a receiver." The Jets, Giants and Titans all met with him on Thursday. The Seahawks also had a notable presence, sending multiple evaluators to the scene. Edmonds posted a composite athletic score in the 59th percentile of NFL athletes at the combine last week, good for the fifth-best mark by a running back in this class on Three Sigma Athlete. Only Saquon Barkley, Nick Chubb, Bo Scarbrough and Justin Jackson posted better composite athletic scores. We fully expect Edmonds to be drafted on Day 3 next month. He'd be best served as COP-deluxe, something between Chris Thompson and Dion Lewis. We ideally still sign/draft a hammer. Outside of the top 5, i like Kerryon Johnson or Jordan Chunn in that role. FA; Crowell or Rawls... Dark horse to keep an eye on, Jets landing Carlos Hyde. He's familiar with some of the concepts our O will be running and without Cousins, that money is going somewhere. Paradis
as mentioned in another thread-- Quote Josh Allen - QB - Cowboys Wyoming QB Josh Allen was recorded firing the ball off at 62 MPH at the NFL Scouting Combine. Allen led all-comers with his fastball. That was expected. Far less expected, the runner-up in the need for speed. That would be Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, whose arm is considerably less ballyhooed than Allen's golden spinner. Mayfield hit 60 MPH with one of his passes. He and Allen were the only two quarterbacks to hit the 60 MPH threshold, but Josh Rosen also showed out plenty respectably with his arm strength, whipping the ball at 59 MPH. There's not much to read into all of this beyond the fact that Mayfield's arm is stronger than the consensus would have it. We already knew that Allen had a cannon and that Rosen was up there, too.
