Is Drew Brees available?

What if the Jets skip all the Cousins controversy and sign Brees for what the Saints won't pay the future HOF, he's gotta think he's worth a fully guaranteed $60 million for the next two years.  Then they draft Mayfield at #6, and go out and sign Jimmy Graham?

Hi. Welcome to Jet Nation, where we love and hate our team with a passion. Don't let the forum crazies get to you. Kick up your feet and enjoy your stay. Your first post does not seem like a troll job but perhaps you are baiting us with a nonchalant introductory post, so I won't fall for it first. Supposedly Brees is available, but he is old as dirt and like the forum GMs would say, he is short, and white so he has to be like Manziel.. even if he came way way way before Manziel. On that level, he is not good, and stinks like Baker Mayfield. Also, I have started you off with some rep on the forum. Red is a beautiful color. Enjoy your stay. If you need anything, feel free to send me a private message or tag me in a post. I love you like McDonald's Big Breakfast.

Sausage egg and cheese McGriddle.

I moved to Germany only to find out that McGriddle sandwiches dont exist here. If i would have known that prior to my move i wouldn't have even packed a bag.

The Jets offensive line is the wort Brees wud ever play behind, Brees also has had and needs weapons and a Pass Receiving RB is a must.  At least Cousins has experience playing without a supporting cast.  The Jets sign Brees they will go 6-10 the next two years.  If they sign Cousins - at least they will play meaningful games in December.  Neither scenario gets you to the Super Bowl, but none of the QBs  in this years class, except perhaps Darnold, does either.

So you're assumption with this is the Jets do not improve the offensive line - or draft a RB with $65mm in cash and 3 picks in the top 50?

Come on - what would the Saitns record have been last year with Josh McCown? 7, maybe 8 wins.  Jets would be an immeidate playoff contender and a threat in the playoffs if Brees was their starrting QB.

He gets it.....

Look at the template the Jaguars set.  If you go out and aggressively spend smart in FA you can turn the franchise around, even with Bortles.....

Now that the Browns have started spending, we've got the biggest war-chest. I'm hoping lessons have been learned about sitting on it.
