Sign McCaron and draft a qb at 6.

Plan B.

Consider this year 2 in rebuild & get another stopgap like you said & draft the QB you want. Push a lot of money into 2019, no way with spending going on that there will be this many teams with gobs of dough.

Nope.

Best plan is to start Hackenburg, Petty on bench, cheap #3.

Full on tank for real this time. #1 pick in 2019.

Focus the remainder of this offseason, free agency and draft primarily on offensive line.

Only way to move forward. 2018 is already lost to us. Get delusions of being competitive out of your head now.

I agree, but the Jets are too stupid to tank properly. Jets have won less than 4 games two times since 1978. That's about 40 years.

Uncoincidentally, they've also won more than ten games just 3 times since 1960.

So essentially, they are perpetually stuck in a never good enough to get home field advantage in the playoffs but never bad enough to get a top 3 pick cycle.

The other option is have a competent talent evaluator that can manage a draft, but you know the history on that as well as i do.

Hire Harbaugh, draft Fromm and hope we can forget about Macagnan and Bowles

Yep. Those wins last year were not indicative of the talent. Worst think we could have done was again to give fans and front office "hope". Like it or not, now that the Browns are no longer the Browns, guess who is?

Draft Baker Mayfield. Everything else is irrelevant at this point for me. Maybe even double dip at the position in the draft.

Mayfield at #6, Falk in the top of the 3rd round.

No Veteran JAG's starting.

Mayfield, Falk, Hack.  God, at least it would be interesting....

Sadly, I think the poster earlier is right, it'll be McCown/Bridgewater/Jackson or some similar thing.

Id go for this. All this "We got to give this QB time crap" is just that, crap. Either you can play or you can't.  Cut bait with journey men, tell Petty he had numerous chances and then move forward with those guys. Take that 90 million and build the Oline and at least one ILB.

I wouldn't mind even getting Lamar Jackson. The is one of the reasons why I think that the Jets don't really have to move up from 6 unless they absolutely want to make sure that they get their guy (if its Mayfield for example). I think Lamar Jackson will be there at 6, and I think this kid is having a lot of negativity thrown at him the way Deshaun Watson did. Guys watched these players in college and were super excited, the moment they declare for the draft then people over analyze tape. This is how guys like Watson fall. I heard a stat not to long ago that was incredible to me coming from a rookie. I heard that in the 6 games Watson played he was accountable for 21TD's....in 6 games. This is a guy we passed on in order to draft a Safety (no issues with Adams) because #6 was too high to spend on Watson after "looking at his tape".

Sure, Lamar comes with some of the same issues being a mobile QB as well in respects to potentially getting injured, but so does a pocket passer who may not see a blitzer.

The Jets need to do something, but if I have to sit back and watch another Journeyman for a 4th season then this will be the 2nd season in a row that I will simply stop watching the games. I can understand not wanting to pay what the Vikings paid Cousins, but there will be NO EXCUSE for going into the season with McCown or any other Journey man and some slap d__k QB that none of us wanted.

Loved Watson.  Would have drafted him in a heartbeat at our pick.

Do not even like Jackson.  Wouldn't take him in the 4th.

Just a feeling.

I can't blame you. None of these guys are clear-cut slam dunks. With that said, as long as im not looking at a Journey man for the 4th consecutive season I'll consider it a start.

It would have been easy if we simply got Cousins. Damn.

It figures that the one time an athlete isn't only about the money it happens to us.

With Cousins gone, this is the only solution now.

Go the same route as the bears did last year.  They signed Glennon but still drafted a qb in the 1st.

If McCaron hits, great, jets have an asset.

If he busts, cut him just like the bears cut glennon.

God no
