He is 2 yard Thomas.. look at his stats

He's an RB who can run the ball effectively behind a good O-Line. The Jets currently don't have a good O-Line. That's why the Jets shouldn't be wasting money on an RB who can do the same thing some guy you draft in the 4th or 5th round can do. Or that Powell and McGuire can do.

I don't know what the contract details are yet but investing decent money in RBs who aren't elite isn't needed IMO. This team needs to be spending big money on premium NFL positions like CB right now. The QB market is barren now. Go get some CBs who can allow Bowles to it least do what he wants to do on defense.

The Jets are still the dummies spending FA money on over the hill RBs at a position you can easily fill in the middle rounds of the draft I see...

He'll take over the Forte role and run the ball 10 times a game for 20 total yards...

There's no certainty that we have picks to select those QB as we better trade up for a QB.

Well, Its been fun...sort of. Its been stupid mostly. And frustrating. And sometimes embarrassing. But today? Yeah. I'm done.

Was it McCown? No. That's just the typical stupidity we have come to expect from this team. Regimes come and go...but they still never learn. They never figure it out.

Was it McCagnan sitting on his hands again, being used and abused by the professional Front Offices of the NFL? Nah. Nothing we haven't seen before around these parts.

Bowles? Nope. Hes a ******* idiot, and has zero future in the NFL, but I suffered through Kotite and made it through.

The Jets signed Isaiah Crowell today.

My father was a Police Officer, and is still the best, smartest, kindest man I have ever met in this life. He served proudly and honorably for 30 years in Law Enforcement, and had some of the toughest jobs a cop could have....Vice, SWAT, Recovery Diver for 20+ years.

My Fathers 4 Brothers and My moms youngest Brother were all NYPD and served honorably and raised great families.

My Grandfather was NYPD from the 1920s to the 1960s. At one time, there were 5 Dolans on the force.

My Great Grandfather was City of Brooklyn PD. Way back when.

I was in New York City on 9/11. I was visiting from Florida helping my Mom at the Brooklyn Irish Festival and went to the Jets v Colts game on the 9th (Herms First as Coach). I watched Law Enforcement Officers (And my Brother Firefighters) run into that building to save lives, any lives, without regard to their own personal safety.

And the New York Jets sign Isaiah Crowell? And you thought people were upset about Michael Vick?

You thought people were offended by guys kneeling for the anthem"

**** You, Jets. ****. YOU.

I am Done. I will be sh*tting on any and all of my Jets merchandise and sending it to your filthy hall of incompetence at Florham Park.

I will be rooting against you now and forever. Your sheer incompetence should have made this easy years ago, but I stuck with you out of habit...loyalty....? And you answer with this?

**** YOU, NEW YORK JETS.

Running between the tackles-YEAH, MAN! None of this girlie passing stuff. RUN THE BALL LIKE IT'S 1959!

Crowell catches the ball pretty well too.  Nobody will confuse him with LeV Bell.  But he is no JAG.

2 yard Thomas had near career year here... Doesn't make him better... this guy falls all the time... so much better out there... No need to sign this guy to 3 years either

Anyone mad about this signing is a typical, idiodic cynic of a Jets fan. He's a solid back that's 25 years old and we NEED A ******* RB and he averaged 4.8 yards a carry with the BROWNS!!!!. Cry we didn't sign Cousins to a guaranteed 28 million a year, your tears will be sweet in 2020 when he blows. I'll take a chance on a rookie (hopefully) rather than throwing money at cousins or any other QB in this FA. Get a grip people.

He's not a bad player.  Not earth shattering but certainly not a total jag RB and he's only 25.  I actually like this one okay.

Young, low mileage and with a lot of upside....not unlike the Chris Ivory pick-up, at the time most people were like “who” but there;screason to believe he could flourish in the right environment

Can you not get the sarcasm in his post?

I don't think we're on the same page.   I got the sarcasm.  But I am not sure what or whom we was targeting with it?

I interpreted it to mean he was mocking the signing of a banger-style RB.   I was pointing out that IC is not just a banger.

If his sarcasm was meant in another fashion, by all means...

Getting hard yards up the middle was a major weakness last year, too many 3rd and longs resulted from that inability and a lot of 3rd and short plays failed too....it may not be 1959 but there’s a reason Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fiurnette have made such a big impact the last 3 years Barkley could be going No1 overall

Do I sit there on Sundays and monitor Isaiah Crowell's every carry? No. But I do know hes a solid FA pickup for 5-6mil a year for a guy with a pretty good track record with a terrible football team.

Not every carry  ANY carry... and if we really paid him 5-6 mil that is horrendous... he has a great track record of falling down and inflated stats on a team that was so terrible then won once in 2 years... his stats are so inflated because they were losing so bad they gave him huge running lanes.  Watch any tape... he is terrible

That's why reading off stats mean nothing when you are losing so bad you can rip off 40 yard runs with lite defense

A better question might be why a power runner would be a fit for a team moving from man/power blocking to more zone blocking.  Have to hope they saw something that they liked, but who knows at this point?

Think they just saw someone actually willing to come here so they jumped on it.

It’s a fair point and tbh I hadn’t considered it but i’m sure there are examples where power backs can still be effective in those schemes, at the end of the day the OL has to open up running lanes either way. I think he’s more than just a 3 yards and a cloud of dust guy, I could be wrong but i’m pretty sure he’s a 3 down back, good receiver and will stay in and block. Will be interesting to see the contract numbers but I wanted this guy all along, He’s been pretty productive on a team that has won one game in 2 years.....His best is ahead of him

Haha... just buy anyone... that's the strategy? Sorry to be critical of a team I have watched fail for 37 years...getting a 3rd tier rb in the tampering period of free agency with tons of better options still available and pay him a ton of money for a rb???? Why and why now???
