sec101row23
Well to be fair the roster was so bad that even mediocre players would be a big improvement. But all in all Mac has done a decent job thus far considering what he had to attract free agents.

CrazyCarl40
Improved? Of course they improved. The roster is so devoid of talent. The CB #1 was upgraded. Upgraded at MLB. But the offense has still been largely ignored.

nycdan
Technically, our starting QBs were Petty and Hack. So adding ANYONE would have been the greatest level of improvement possible. No other team could hope to approach that. Even MIN, with zero QBs on the roster, and adding Cousins, did not improve the position as much as we did. JiFtheOracle
How? What new talent did they add? They brought back McCown and a hobbled QB that nobody knows if he can even play, a mediocre RB that is no different than what they already had if not a down grade from Powell and another overrated overpaid CB and they have a wash with Williamson instead of Davis. So this guy is claiming that addition of Trumaine Johnson, makes the Jets the most improved team in the league?
Ken Schroy
They did nothing for this horrible Offense. Helping the defense again. Im sure Bowles is excited for his D. At some point someone will explain to him that to win you need to score points. Maybe he will buy a "NFL Offense for Dummies" Book.
Jets Voice of Reason
Jets moves (outside of mccown) are fine in a vacuum. The team cb situation is helped by johnson. Bridgewater at 5 million is a good backup value option. Williamson looks like a promising ilb. Etc. they help areas where we need to improve the talent level. The fundamental problem still remains that the Jets don't know how to build a roster or team with a coherent plan. They have only shown a willingness to invest money and picks heavily into the secondary and for whatever reason ilb. If this means we STOP using high draft picks at least in this upcoming draft on corners, safeties, and ilbs, i'd be pretty happy. Please for the love of god get a qb. Get some OL help. Get a pass rusher with these draft picks. Get rb and wr depth.

Augustiniak
what it means is that the jets aren't trading up for a qb, they will once again sit at 6 and watch other teams get franchise qbs. they'll draft chubb, then maybe take an offensive player in round 2. Not to nitpick, but most here would not consider a 39-year old Josh McCown an upgrade over a 38-year old Josh McCown.
Jetster
Watched NFL total Access & Jeremiah did his mock. He had Darnold, Giants take Nelson, Colts trade out to Bills who take Allen (Big strong arm for Buffalo wind & Winters), Browns take Barkley out 4 (Holy Sh*t what a draft!), Broncos have Chubb fall in their lap & lo & behold our NY Jets are picking between Rosen & Mayfield. This draft could shape up like this. Says Gettleman has always been about beefing up the trenches & we all know the Giants Oline was DREADFUL & they missed out on Norwell! Jetscreen
This is so stupid. You can't possibly not look improved when you have a roster so lacking talent. So the Jets went from 5-11 to 6-10. Whoopdy f*ckin doo
