Freemanm
FOR RELEASE: MARCH 14, 2018 YANKEES WIDEN LEAD OVER PHILLIES, METS IN QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY NEW JERSEY BASEBALL POLL The New York Yankees are the favorite team of 47 percent of New Jersey baseball fans, gathering more support than the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets combined, according to the Quinnipiac University New Jersey Baseball Poll released today. The Phillies have the love of 20 percent of New Jersey baseball fans and the Mets score 18 percent. This compares to results of the March 17, 2017, Baseball Poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University, showing the Yankees at 39 percent, followed by the Phillies with 21 percent and the Mets with 20 percent. A total of 49 percent of New Jersey adults are “very interested” or “somewhat interested” in Major League Baseball, while 51 percent of those in this state without a home team are not interested. “When New Jersey baseball fans sing, ‘Take me out to the ball game,’ they are more often than not talking about going to Yankee Stadium. Only about one in five Garden State baseball fans say their favorite team is either the New York Mets or the Philadelphia Phillies. Just about half cite the Yankees as their guys,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll. “None of the other major league teams even comes close when it comes to winning the hearts of Jersey guys, or gals.” From March 8 – 12, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,147 New Jersey adults with a margin of error of +/- 4 percentage points, including the design effect. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones. The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts nationwide public opinion surveys, and statewide polls in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa and Colorado as a public service and for research. Randy Rasmussen
I live in Central New Jersey close to the shore. I’ve been here over 30 years now and have always felt resentment from the localsnot used to having pushy NYers living in there midst. So I find it quite humorous that 90% of the locals are Yankee fans. They are too stupid to realize they’re rooting for the epitome of N.Y. pushiness.Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

Sounds about right, and when most people think of New Jersey they think North Jersey. New York lost its edge btw, you were once considered tough if you were from the city, now you're mostly thought of as a liberal butterfly.

Moving to Charlotte NC in 95, before it was sheik, I put up with a lot of prejudice and BS. Now when I see guys retiring (cops, fireman, construction etc) their accents are SO STRONG I now see what the southerners saw in me.
T0mShane
Jersey filth is, indeed, more likely to embrace the juiced-up streaming failure-porn that is the New York Yankees.
