The kid they had in training camp from Duke was better...they just had too much $$$ committed to CC to cut him.

Bring that kid back....

Is that the douche who cowardly posted a video of himself nailing no-pressure FGs when he had the benefit of starting the video over - or simply not posting it - if he missed?

What $$$ committed? Catanzaro had a $250,000 guarantee on a $900,000 contract with the team tens of millions under the cap.

Yeah...that guy.  He's badass.

Yes, we need to immediately address the kicker position. Who can reliably kick field goals while down by 41 points with 7 minutes to go? We can't just have some loser rookie who spent four years kicking meaningless field goals in the ACC - we need a grizzly veteran who can handle the pressure kicks that we're in store for in 2018.

A badass would have filmed it live to simulate the same pressure a kicker has in the game, and who says all the conditions were equal anyway (wind, snap, hold, etc.)? A puss films it and posts it only after he knows it went the way he wanted (after an unknown number of failed attempts).

Catanzaro was hardly the greatest kicker of all time, but that was weak. Kicking in a thunderstorm/monsoon in a live game is enough of an excuse for anyone to miss a pair of longer FGs.

People's infatuation with that kid has always been mind-boggling.  He was horrific in his first preseason, got a second one for some reason and was mediocre.  There's plenty of undrafted rookies available each year at the special teams positions, might as well just go look for a new one rather than continuing to swoon over a kid who apparently needs years of practice, while the rest of the league has shown no interest, even throughout a year that saw kickers getting injured or midseason cut at a higher rate than I can ever remember.

His leg was weak. Kickoffs were pretty bad.

Daniel Carlson is the Auburn kicker. Freak frame for the position, started off as a solid punter, extremely productive college kicker, hit from 54 multiple times in college (4-7 from 50+), 80.7% with much higher rates as a sophomore and junior...My favorite kicking prospect since Mason Crosby, and that's definitely a thing.

No big loss the guy was nothing special.  Easily replaced.

How do you figure that he'll be easily replaced. He's got one of the strongest legs in the NFL. He hit 23 of 30 last year plus both 50+ yarders. He was 29/29 on PAT's and had 45 touchbacks. He's a career 84.4% on FG's. He will NOT be easily replaced.

Catanzaro got like $9.5 mill on a 3 yr deal with $3.5 mill guaranteed...is he worth that?  Not so sure...

TB thinks so after going thru 3 kickers last year. We should have resigned him, we have the cap space.

Ross Martin, right? I'm hoping they give him another chance, I remember hearing some positive stuff about him during training camp last year.
