Cool first name, sounds like a middle eastern city.

Coach of Jets reminds me of a middle eastern city too. Dumbasskis.

Cairo is the capital of Egypt.  If he hits a game winning FG we can start calling him "The Egyptian Magician"

Football is a dangerous sport but maybe we should try raising some kickers from an early age. Imagine having a kicker who can hit 50-60 yarders with consistency. That would be a nice paycheck through 15 years

Santos leg is not nearly as strong as Catanzaro plus we're giving up 7" in height and 40 lbs. in weight. :(

Cairo Santos

One day after the Jets lost kicker Chandler Cantanzaro, they have signed Cairo Santos.

The moment I stepped in the door, I was sold, Santos said. I wanted to sign here because what a beautiful complex. It just keeps getting better as you meet the people from top to bottom. I’m so excited to be a part of it and where the program is headed.

In his first three seasons with the Chiefs, Santos successfully converted 86 of 102 field goal attempts (84.3%). He battled an injury last year (groin) and was placed on I.R. in September and then eventually waived.

For his NFL career, Santos has converted 84.1% of his field goal tries and 96.2% of his PATs, and has produced touchbacks on 46.5% of his kickoffs.

The Jets will likely bring in another kicker to compete with Santos in training camp.

Bears' Cairo Santos: Undergoes offseason surgery

Mar 5, 2018

Santos (groin) required surgery to repair the groin injury that landed him on injured reserve, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Santos was only signed to a one-year contract with Chicago, so he's set to become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year. However, it isn't certain how his recovery from groin surgery will impact his standing once he's out on the open market.
