I'm glad our young players have peaked

Is it possible that young football players get better with experience or is that a thing of the past? Based on what I read here the Jets young players are all Jags and already reached their limits of their talent. Such Bullsh*t. The Patriots are proof positive that football is a team game & you don't need pro bowlers at every position. Adams, Maye, Jenkins, Lee, Robinson, Clark, Jones,Donahue, Anderson, Stewart, Hansen, Leggett, McGuire, Tomlinson, Sterling, Shell, you just need solid football players sprinkled in amongst some stars. Leo is above average player, Trumaine Johnson is one of the best CBs in the league and with another draft coming up Macc is now forced to start looking for some offensive stars.

We have a lot of young players who have barely started their NFL careers. This is a league where the changing of the guard is very close with QBs very close to the end of their careers. Brady, Big Ben, Eli, Rivers, Smith others who are questions because of injuries, Luck, Tannyhill. It's imperative sitting at 6 that we do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get a young QB in this draft. There is nothing more important than taking care of the QB spot & we have the ammunition to thwart both Buffalo & Miami from getting in front of us. I believe we have got to come out of this draft with either Rosen (my 1st choice), or Mayfield. Darnold will be #1 I believe, Giants are a huge question mark, but if they take Rosen that leaves Allen & Mayfield. Not knowing what Denver is going to do at 5 I believe FORCES Macc to move up to 3 at the Colts spot.

One of things no one is talking about is that the Browns might have TOO MANY picks & don't be surprised if the Browns pick Darnold and trade UP from 4 to #2 and make the drafts biggest splash by getting their future franchise QB & the best PLAYER in the draft. The Giants Oline is a f*cking mess, they missed out on Norwell, and while fans here are poo pooing Nelson to the Giants at #2, trading back to #4 almost guarantees Nelson is still on the board & they add probably additional picks in the 2nd & 3rd round.

This is gonna be a wild draft at the top & I hope Macc will maneuver to make sure we don't miss out this year on that future QB. The Browns can't have another Wentz moment!

Eight of the “solid football players” cited here played less than a third of the offensive/defensive snaps last season. Six of them played less than 10%, and three of them played zero. Two were arrested. Definitely reassuring to hear that Maccagnan’s plan all along was to stock the roster with nobodies and then magically conjure a bunch of stars in his fourth offseason though.

Plenty of very good football players in this league played few snaps in their 1st years & others benefit from playing with more capable QBs. How do you know if any of these young players might turn out to be very good? You don't yet, so coming to instant conclusions is nonsensical based on Maccs past drafts.

Clairborne moving to CB2 is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT over last year when Burris & Skrine, Roberts, failed to hold the fort. Johnson is top 5 at CB in this league, and with Claiborne sliding over to the 2 spot & Adams and Maye having 16 games experience we could see a huge improvement overall in pass defense.

Other than after McCown got hurt, the Jets were in every game, having a chance to win each one. I just think bitching & moaning BEFORE the draft is just ridiculous. If things don't go the way you envisioned after the draft, then have at it. Your never going to get the BEST at every position. So, we got younger at ILB, Huge upgrade at CB with Johnson when you consider our 2017 #1 CB, slides over to the 2 spot, upgraded at Center since our starter was ranked at #32. That alone should help our guards. I thought Shell played pretty well & believe he'll improve with experience & coaching from Dennison. Winters played hurt (and pretty badly), so he should have a nice resurgence.

Powell was weak running between tackles & Crowell is much stronger & tougher in that aspect. This draft is loaded with good backs & I'm positive we'll draft one. We have no idea what we have with Leggett as unfortunately he got injured. Outside of a few teams that are loaded, Eagles, Rams, Saints, Vikings (fortunately most are in the NFC), the AFC is wide open to the next group of teams that find their young franchise QB. There are no guarantees but I do think this might be the strongest QB class in quite some time. Even Rudolph, Falk, Lauletta and White, I'd be shocked if all of them fail. One of those guys will have a Kirk Cousins type rise.

Its for these reasons I remain optimistic with our free agency & draft position.

I'm not the guy referring to Jordan Leggett and Jeremy Clark as "solid football players."

Not one f*cking time did I say that Leggett & Clark were solid football players,  I said, "you don't know what they are yet". Bit of a difference there. Odds are good that out of Robinson, Clark, Jones, we can find 1 guy to help out in nickel or dime. Guys come out of nowhere all the time, Butler didn't even play for the Pats right away, he was running special teams.

Our offense is set imo. We signed Long. Exhausted all our resources this year for offense. So I guess we’ll be drafting Fitz.

Why so glum? Jets will draft some offense. It's where the strength of the draft is other than Chubb, Minkah & Ward. Now if we ignore offense again this year, especially at QB, I'll obviously be upset at that point.

Your seasoning for the Browns moving up to 2 is my reasoning for why I believe they won't trade down unless it's for future picks. I could see them packaging picks to move up to get their guys especially in later rounds.

Jets need to get up to 3 IMO

If Giants aren't going QB, this is definitely a scenario! Browns have too many picks. Giants spent a sh*t ton of money last 2 years, have to pay OBJ, and their Oline is a sh*tshow.

With the 3rd Pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Josh Rosen, QB UCLA.

Man, I hope so. I'm starting to like him more than Mayfield but if Mayfield is the consolation prize I'd still be happy as hell.
