Any Interest In Johnathan Hankins?

Personally, I would rather sign Suh and play him and Williams at DE with Mclendon at the nose in the 34 . It will never happen thou because the Jets shy away from players like him . Me,I give him 2 yrs 30mil fully guaranteed .

I wonder if Hankins was in the trade talks with the Jets, and Colts, I’d imagine it came up, and Jets said no thanks, so I’d be surprised if they have interest.

Or the Jets just didn’t want to take on his 8 figure contract with the Colts.

IMO,, this would be a great move to follow up a great move.

It absolutely would be

With the Jets giving up those two 2nd rounders in addition to the 2nd next year, obviously they have less resources in the draft to work with for the foreseeable future.

These are the kinds of guys they need to be all in on to fill key positions of need.

Hankins is talented, young, fills an immediate position of need and won’t break the bank on a short term deal.

Exactly. He really can be a long term answer at the position if he plays well. Priority signing tbqh.

Damn straight

With the trade up to #3 and the loss of those 2nd round picks the Jets are going to have to be more active in FA over the next few days.

Hankins, Mewhort, Matthews/Wright and re-signing Ealy to a 1 year deal would be a nice capper to FA.

This is what I’d like to see.

Almost wonder if his release was a wink-nod add-on to the trade, and the Jets are already positioned to be first at the table for FA negotiation.

Wishful thinking.

Maybe wishful thinking but I’d love like hell to think it’s reality.
