That's using the luxury of hindsight. I can go back and look at Joe Banner's drafts and pick apart any player he passed on that turned out to be a star as well and kill him for not making the pick.

The real world doesn't work that way. Terrible rebuttal by him.

Not only that but I think Macc has targeted Rosen since his freshman year.(maybe even Darnold, too) there was a reason he wanted to tank and he passed up on the QB’s last year.

Rosen > Watson

Watson blew out his knee supposedly while jogging. His physical ability to hold up was a big knock on him coming out. Guess it was true. Who knows what his career will look like. And if the hype of this years QB class is legit, we may be in for an even bigger treat all because we were able to wait a year.

In hindsight, Watson would obviously have been a better pick, but anyone suggesting he was considered a can’t-miss talent is being revisionist. That said, drafting Adams there sucked, too. But, screw it, go get a quarterback that can put points on the board and everyone will forget everything.

You can't change the past. What the guy wrote was correct, but that didnt happen. So if we get our guy this year the multiple 2nd round picks were worth it.

Macc's back was to the wall and its good to see him make things happen instead of hoping things fell to him.

What's done is done. Woody didnt fire him so what's the point of trying to make what he needed to do look bad because of what he didnt do last year?

Baker Mayfield or Josh Rosen will be a Jet. Ill take that along with Jamal Adams, Teddy Bridgewater and 3 less 2nd round picks that probably would have been worthless for the jets given history.

If Macc hits next month he'll be a legend. I dont like his track record and even im getting behind this right now because it was the correct thing to do.

I see so many people sh*tting on it.

Fans of other teams and analysts hate it and I can’t figure why. The main argument for them is “we spent too much.”

You cant spend too much when you are taking a shot at your QB for the next 15 years.

For a franchise that hasn't had one in 45 years no price is too high.

The Jets had to get into the top 3, and keeping next years 1 is the win

Because they enjoy picking on the Jets as if every move is stupid. It’s not a lot...at all.

Look at our track record on 2nd round picks and not giving up our 1 for next year. To take a shout at our franchise qb. Not knowing if he would be there at 6. Mccagnan finally grew some balls and didn't lay back. GREAT MOVE

I agree. Everyone else outside of the fan base is claiming our guy would of been there at 6 anyway.

LIES.

Niether of the top 2 were even dropping to 4-5 much less 6.

Does Mac swab up with giants now ? And for what cost ? Part of my post article.

What would that take? Well, according to the NFL Draft Value Chart, an unofficial guide assigning points to every pick, moving up from No. 3 to No. 2 should cost 582 points — the equivalent of a high second-round pick. The problem is the Jets sent their two second-round picks in this draft and their 2019 second-round pick to the Colts in order to move up three spots. Any deal would likely have to be the pick for a player. Perhaps the Giants look at Darron Lee, a speedy linebacker, as a good fit in their new defense and accept the 2016 first-round pick as compensation for swapping draft spots with the Jets.

The same people who are sh*tting all over it are the same people who were about to crown the Bills for giving up WAY more to do it.  It's all just noise.  There is no right answer.

To be fair, I personally have seen more analysts say they like it than vice versa.  I don't care either way.  I personally am a lot more excited about nex season and the next 5 seasons than I was yesterday.  I'm not going to let Joe Banner or any other person trying to generate conversation change that.

Good response here. This just gave me soooo much more to actually look forward to as a fan.

Not getting watson: bad

winning 5 meaningless games in a tank season: bad

trading up to not get shutout of qbs: best decision given circumstances.

Exactly. You can’t control the past. Arguing over it is flapping over hypotheticals. It was the right thing to do for the right now.

If John Elway made the same trade, they would be giving him Exec of the Year.
