If Cleveland is enamored with Allen,

Where is this narrative coming from, besides crotchety ass motherfckers who aren't paid to make decisions... Given CLE's struggles at QB -- that's the ONLY team we know won't be taking Allen.

Mark that one off as Darnold and move on.

Essentially you would have a move that cost our first, our second in 2018, our first, our second in 2019, and sheldon richardson to move up from #6 for the #1 overall pick and Kearse.  Plus we got production for a year from Kearse.

Trade up to 1 and get a 2 next year is worth consideration. But they better be pretty dam confident in who they want is the best of the bunch and a big difference from the other 3 guys

ya if they gave up 2019 #1 to move up just 2 spots their better damn well be more picks given to us.

Browns will want a king's  ransom

Stick and pick

it's a specific hypothetical scenario.  Next years #1 and swap spots with the Browns now. That's it.  No more, no less.

Is there a simple poll around here already asking which QB everyone wants first?  I'd assume the broad consensus is on Darnold with a few votes each for the other three.  If there's clearly one guy above all the others (and I'm starting think there is and that Darnold is that guy) then I'd probably say, we've come this far, why not get THE guy.

We tried to suck for Sam and apparently we don't suck hard enough.  Now we've started to trade up.  Now that we're close should the Jets just say, F*** it and push all the chips for 2018 and 2019 to the center of the table.  I'm thinking this poll gets a Yes vote.  What do we have to lose...another Calvin Pryor or Quinton Coples next year?

I think if we were planning to do this, the time to do it was when we traded up from #6.  If Darnold is the best prospect though (and I get the impression that he is) then why not.  Basically we'd have no #1 and no #2 this year or next year but that would be it.  We'd still have a lot of money to buy players with and we could try trading down this draft to recoup picks.
