Manning easily. Great player who could lead an offense on the field even when he was physically past his prime.

I don't know how a team hasn't found the right amount of money (pro or college) to get him to come be an offensive coach or consultant. He doesn't need the money but disappointing to see his ability to read a defense and call plays on the fly lost to the game.

Well, he had a nice little thing with Papa Johns going before they decided to cut the NFL partnership...he still has NationWide insurance

I followed the entire career of every player on this list.  Every one of them has merit to be considered and it's really hard to pick because the rules have changed over the years.  Manning and Brady didn't have to deal with the super defensive units of the 80's where pass interference wasn't called and you could kill the passer.

I do know one thing: Montana beat everyone he faced on the list and took a physical beating while doing it.

And he has other business dealings. Definitely does not need the money and probably wants to enjoy some Sundays away from the game.

I just think any team that hasn't picked up the phone to see what might get him in the building is crazy, especially considering he's played recently enough that he has on-field knowledge of current teams and coaching staffs.

Some guys are so good at what they do, it's useless for them to try to teach it to mere mortals.  They can't relate to the guys who need a lot of work.

Much like Ted Williams when he was a manager.  A .350 hitter trying to teach .230 guys just didn't work.  His mind was on a whole other level.

If you want to play golf in January, Manning is your guy.   There is no better QB ever than Brady.  He has made GREAT receivers out of midget throwaways.  He gets rid of the ball as fast as Marino, can’t remember the last time he won less than 12 games . Oh and there’s that 5 SB wins , 8 appearances thing.  I stopped hating it a few years ago and just learn to appreciate it.  It’s like a Red Sox fan watching Jeter.

Didn’t see Marino, Elway or Montana play.

But Peyton. He was so much fun to watch him orchestrate the offense every snap, calling guys out. Was a true surgeon.

Wow !!

You are just such knowledgeable poster and I just assume we have all seen these guys :) but based on that you can not go wrong with Peyton Manning!!

Ha I didn’t start watching football/Jets until about 2002 when Pennington was starting. Before then I was all about the 90s Knicks.

Peyton Manning is the Carmelo Anthony of the NFL, except Carmelo won in college.

Chill ouuuuutttttt! Where is Melo’s ring? Why did Melo get traded from the Nuggets and Peyton stayed the face of his franchise until he hurt his neck and was let go.

Peyton Manning, it's not even close.

He's broken every single season record including rating, tds, and yards.

He's broken nearly every career record.

He's the best to ever do it.

In the wussy Era

Montana and Elway played when defense was allowed and you could hit the QB
