  1. 1. Would you give up 3 1st rounders for Aaron Rogers right now?

I was talking about this last night and apparently Stephen A Smith has been talking about this, but the idea is Rogers is getting shafted in Green Bay, and according to my friend, Green Bay is not consulting with him at all or giving him a heads up when shipping out Jordy or other roster moves. So now Rogers feels disrespected and wants out. I for one would love giving up three 1st rounders for Rogers, hell I'm good with giving up our entire draft (alla Ditka) to get his services. And fine with a monster contract 30 million a year, 100 guaranteed whatever.

I don't know how you wouldnt sign up for that, my friend says not everyone would agree,

What say you?

(I assume this is all BS and no truth in it, because i never heard about Rogers being unhappy, but they did ship Jordy out...so who knows)

He's 34, turning 35 in season. How many years of elite play does he have left? Don't cite Brady, other than Brady, who has been able to maintain elite play late into their 30's? Three #1 picks for the guy who hates his family? Nah. I'll pass. Give me the D'ARosefield.

If the team was loaded at positions other than QB, and had a competent GM and HC, I might bite at the prospect of stealing a quick SB or two before Rogers implodes or falls apart.  I think the Jets are too far away and even with a player as great as Rogers the brain trust would find a way to f*ck it up.  Plus there's the age/injuries thing as an extra layer of concern.

I voted No because, as mentioned, he's 34, has had serious injury issues recently, and has proven in recent years he can't carry a team on his back anymore.

Five years ago it would be a no brainer.  Now?  He's past his prime and has injury concerns.  Giving up 3 1st rounders for that is completely reckless.

No.  Too old.

Rodgers will never win another Super Bowl in what remains of his career.  And he will not play another five years at this point.

So why trade three #1 picks to not have a chance to win a title with a four-five year max term of service?

There are no quick fixes.

have you guys that said no watched him play?  QB's play into the late 30's now - in a league where they can barely be touched - where defenders can barely defend...

and the Packers have a downright awful team, yet continue to win when he plays.

Put him on the team and you are a superbowl favorite every year.

And its Stephen A Smith. That guy is a moron who always acts like his word is gospel. I remember when Broussard said Lebron was going back to Miami and Smith laughed him out the room with how "ridiculous" that was. Smith sucks, and his 1:55 from 1PM to 2:55PM is the word near two hours on the radio.

Aaron Rodgers at 35 will be a top-3 QB in the league.  Aaron Rodgers at 39 will still be a top-5 QB in this league, barring any new injuries that you can't predict.  The guy can carry a decent team very far but GB has given him nothing to work with at all the past few years.  I guess it depends on who we get this year and how that turns out, but if we weren't drafting a QB and we were looking at another year of McCown without that future in place, yeah, I'd do it.

LOL at the people saying he’s too old. One thing the skeptics have to understand is he had a VERY late start to his career thanks to Favre.

Second, although he’s 34, we’ve never had 1/4 of the QB Rodgers is today. So yes, I would trade whatever they want. We have a sh*t load of cap space next season so we can sign whoever we want because with Rodgers here, players wouldn’t use us as leverage anymore. We’d be the destination.

This isn’t happening so pardon me as I go and clean the jizz on my pants.

Yes.

Why? Because he MAKES your roster championship caliber. He's one of the 3 elites in the league. At 34 years old you pull the trigger because giving up Three 1st rounders is giving up three 1st rounders for an MVP caliber QB any given season. This guy transforms your offense immediately and I believe that we have enough on defense to keep opponents from outscoring Rodgers most of the time.

That would make us a Contender immediately. Anyone worried about him being 34 may not have realised that it's virtually written in the rule book that you cant touch a quarterback, especially if the QB is one of the elite. That means that Rodgers at 34 years old could give you 5 prime years.

You know they are desperate for a story when they start talking about the packers letting Rodgers go

He would also want a bigger contract than cousins got, like 20% higher

It would just mean losing in a different way but still losing

He has also had his bean rattled around in that can way more times than most. That ages you fast. Guys admittedly losing vision post hit before. Despite sitting behind Brett, he has some high mileage on his odometer.

Yes I would.  For those who say "but the Jets roster isn't championship caliber", isn't that also true of the Packers roster?  (At least when Rodgers isn't their QB).  They were under .500 without him and a SB contender with him.  As crazy as it might sound, if you add Rodgers to our roster, we're a SB contender.

4-5 years.   Brees is still really good and is turning 39

Not many last as long as Brees has. And 5 years of good Rodgers, isn't worth 3 or more first rounds picks that could each last a dozen years.

I think a lot of qbs are lasting that long now.  The whole eli, rivers, ben class is still going.  Rogers will start to lose his legs though

He is pretty much shot people; move on. He has taken a ton of hits and everyone is quiet on the concussions.... So three one's on a team that is not close; why? It is definitely Jets fans off season. Lunatics.
