Sounds like a coach helping his player out. Rosen is on record that he doesn’t want to play once Cle.

The full quote is: “Because of fit, I would take Sam Darnold if I were the Cleveland Browns”, and then goes on to say that he would take Rosen like *that* if he were a NY team.

Pretty much. The title is miss leading.

100% how I took it too.  Doing a little work for him to help him dodge getting drafted by the Browns.  Which I dont think he needs to worry about.  Rosen is coming to NY whether its in Blue or Green is yet to be determined.

although it would make sense for the giants to trade back with denver if denver wanted to move up and the giants didn't want a qb.  qbs would go 1-3, and they'd still get either chubb or barkley and a haul of picks.

Rosen has that sh*t eating cocky grin that opposing fans hate. Brady has it. Please lord let Rosen drop to us, and let him walk off that Gillette field after burying the Patriots with that grin that Pats fans will have to witness for 15 years. Mayfield winning at Gillette would be fun also, could you imagine the hate for Mayfield by Pats fans, lol.

Agreed...but I just cant see the Giants being this short sighted.  Eli isnt that great and is getting old and having a chance to bring along a guy like Rosen seems pretty juicy...but I have no clue what the Giants are thinking.

the giants don't know either.  they've whiffed on a few 1st rounders recently in apple, flowers and pugh, and the obj mess is coming to a head.  if they draft rosen he'll need to play sooner than later and benching eli again would be a pr mess.  in the end i think they take chubb, rebuild the pass rush, then draft a rb top of the 2nd.

The Giants supposedly really like Webb. Could be a case of them passing on a QB because of him, much like the Jets passed in the first round last year because of Hack. Talking to Giant fans, they hope the team doesn't draft a QB there and instead takes Barkley. There's a belief that last year was just a McAdoody and that Eli still has a couple potential championship years left.

This is all about the Giants.  I am completely clueless as to what they are thinking.  They are doing a good job keeping this quiet, which is smart.

The Giants are going to make a big statement as to their intent and vision with what they do with their pick.  It’s will have lots of ripples.

Personally, I think they need picks not one player.  The Browns should throw them a few picks and they should trade down to 4.   Allen or Rosen, and Chubb, will be there.

I'm thinking this way also. It pisses me off to no end that the Giants could literally f*ck us up for another 5 years depending on what they decide to do. Maccs confident in 3 QBs but let's remember, he took a guy in the 2nd round that can't even get on the damn field in front of Bryce Petty, who I have to admit might be the worst QB on an NFL roster OTHER than Hackenberg!

Meh, the Giants have drafted pretty well lately IMO.  Evan Engram was a homerun in the 1st last year.  He's going to be the next bad ass pass catching TE in the league.  They pulled Sterling Sheppard out of the 2nd and an all-pro in Landon Collins in the 2nd as well. Gallman late was a good pick too. I think Apple is a good player, he's just a psycho...just like OBJ.  Flowers and Pough are meh but all in all, they've draft well IMO.

Anywho, maybe they go Chubb since they let go JPP but who knows man, it's friggin mystery.

I want Rosen too. But it's not just Mac that thinks the 3 QBs are very close in ability at the top of the draft. I think most teams feel this way, with Mayfield a close 4th.

Yeah, who knows...I just cant imagine passing on QB at #2 with the guys they'll have a their choice of.  You dont want to have picks that high and you have to take advantage of them when you do and the reality is, QB is the best value even if you miss.

a big reason reese got fired was b/c of bad drafting.  sheppard is a good case of being on the right team.  put him on the jets and he has 15 catches for the year and he's nothing but a smallish wr who sucks.

i will say this though, if they decide to trade obj, they're probably going qb, taking rosen and trying to rebuild on the fly.

the giants control the draft right now and they pretty much know it.  the browns have to understand that if they take barkley, darnold/rosen are gone next, so the jets trade up kinda forced them to take darnold, as if that's a bad thing.  but the giants have options, and based on everything out there it seems teams don't want to fall too far down, so i don't see them trading to buff or mia.  maybe denver, maybe.

IDK man - OBJ, Collins, Shepard, Engram, Hankins - that's 4 better players than anyone on the Jets.  All draft picks.

Anywho, bottom line is...they control this bitch and it sucks.  haha

Reminds me of one of the funniest videos ever.  BBC talking animals.  This is the relevant part but watch the whole thing if you can.

WHAT IS JIM MORA'S MOTIVATION FOR SAYING HE WOULD TAKE SAM DARNOLD OVER JOSH ROSEN?
By DAN GARTLAND
March 26, 2018

If former UCLA coach Jim Mora were in charge of the Browns, he wouldn’t take the quarterback he coached with the first pick in the draft.

Appearing Monday on NFL Network, Mora said he thinks former USC quarterback Darnold is a better fit for Cleveland, while UCLA’s Josh Rosen is better suited for New York.

“Because of fit, I would take Sam Darnold if I were the Cleveland Browns,” Mora said. “I think [he has] that blue-collar, gritty attitude. I think his teammates will love him. I think the city will love him. He’ll say the right things. He’ll come in and represent well. I think he kind of represents what Cleveland is. And then if I was one of the New York teams, I’d take Josh like that. I think they’re both going to be great pros.”

In an interview on Fox Sports’ Undisputed in December, before the draft order was set, Mora offered a different take. He repeated the same platitudes about Darnold’s work ethic but said he believes Rosen is a better passer and therefore the better draft pick.

“I think they're both me great pros, first of all,” Mora said. “Totally different styles of play, but I'm going to go with Josh, because he's a pure passer. He’s got a motion that you would love to see in your mini camp. I mean it’s just pure, and it's clean, and he can make every throw. He can throw with velocity, he can throw with touch.

“But I love Darnold because he’s a gym rat. And he can he can improvise. He can make things happen on the move. They’re going to play different style of offenses. I think Darnold gives you a little bit more running ability, a little bit more mobility in the pocket.

“But Josh has that way, like all the great ones, and the guys you played with, that kind of slip and slide around in the pocket, and find the window, and then they can get it there on time. They’re both going to be great, but I mean, you know, Josh is one of my guys, I got to go with him.”

Rosen has been labeled by some evaluators as having an attitude problem because of his tendency to say what is on his mind instead of parroting what he learned in media training.

“When you express opinions, you create perceptions. You create controversy,” Mora told the Dan Patrick Show in August. “There are those that agree with you and those who don’t agree with you, and you have to be willing to deal with the consequences.”

Right or wrong, that’s certainly something NFL teams think about when choosing who is going to be the face of their franchise.
