Wonderlic scores mean nothing.

Arm strength means nothing.

Height means nothing.

All that matters is that country boy Moxie! Am I right???

    Nothing matters .  At least this confirms the rumour about Jacksons chalk board sessions.

You ever tried one? a 13 is pretty god dam bad

Yes I have. There's no correlation between the wonderlic test and football.

Having the ability to answer a bunch of random questions in a short amount of time doesn't make you a football player. Hell, it doesn't even make you more intelligent.

There is somewhat of a correlation with those scores and intelligence.

It’s how quick you can solve a problem.. your processor.

I’m really just having fun getting a reaction out of you tbh. You are easy to troll if we are being 100 about it.

Didn't think showing a picture of a child with Downs syndrome was having "fun". Most adults would not think so either. Maybe volunteering with the Special Olympics, like I do ,would enlighten you a little.

It's interesting and all, and people love to cherrypick higher or lower Wonderlic scores as being relevant after some particular success or failure. But there's never been a demonstrable correlation between higher Wonderlic scores and great (or even acceptable) quarterbacking.

  • Former Jets Fitzpatrick & McElroy each scored a near-perfect 48.  Kellen Clemens scored a 35 (as did Leinart, Ponder, and JT O'Sullivan).
  • The 3 most prolific passers in NFL history all scored below a 30: Peyton Manning and Drew Brees a 28, and Favre a 22.

Likely as not there will be at least 5 QBs taken in round 1 this year (the Wonderlic scores of those 5 posted in the thread starter)

  • 3 HOFers from the 1983 draft's 5-QB first round: Elway 29, Marino was a 13 or a 16 (like it matters), Kelly 15.
  • From the 1999 draft's 5-QB first round: Couch 22, McNabb 14, Akili Smith 37, Culpepper 18, McNown 28. Which were the most successful and which the biggest busts?

And BTW, before he scored a 37, Akili Smith previously just scored a 12 before deciding to retake it. So much for the idea that this test actually measures intelligence. If there was an IQ test that could even possibly measure a person's IQ at 80 in one sitting, and then 130 in the very next sitting, most would agree such test results aren't worth the paper on which they're printed.

There are great and lousy QBs with good scores. There are also great and lousy QBs with bad - and even with embarrassing - scores. Why the lack of correlation? These guys are being recruited to throw a football, generally in around or under 3 seconds. What the hell does it matter if one takes 60 seconds while another takes only 20 seconds to solve a ~30-second math problem? They don't typically get 20-30 seconds even in the freaking huddle.

Somewhat ? I would think it's a direct correlation.

Wasn't going to open myself up to a back and forth with him since he wrote "Having the ability to answer a bunch of random questions in a short amount of time" so I went with the "somewhat".
