Board redirect on new browser tab?

Recommended Posts

I am not aware of any issues since we switched to this network. They are filling 100% of our page views at a really bad CPM, but I did that so there was only one network. Haven't seen any redirect issues since it happened.

But more info would help, kind of device, pc\mac\android\iphone and operating system.

I wish we didn't have to run ads, but unfortunately we do. Thanks.

PC WIN10 Fios/Gig Chrome and firefox browsers. Also, seems you might be outgrowing the server/bandwidth you have unless it's just a draft bubble.  Ads aren't an issue at all you provide us a service for free, which shouldn't come out of your pocket. Keep up the great work.

It definitely isn't a performance issue right now. We are on a dedicated server and we monitor the resources there regularly. That hasn't been an issue at all.

Here is what I got back from the ad network. Please start by clearing your cache. Thanks.

See if you can get any screenshots?  We have only ever heard of this happening on mobile and not on desktop. Any information including time stamps, time zone, screenshot, Redirect URL would be helpful in trying to figure it out.

The might also want to clear their caches since it could have been a rogue ad that dropped a cookie on their browser.

Max, I don't know how you feel about this, but maybe when people make bets on the board, the loser can donate to keeping this site running if you don't have a particular charity you already support.  We could even sponsor some fun events to help raise funds  - all voluntary of course.

WTF?  Putin...are you trying to hijack our election of a new QB?

He already did.  Chris Ballard is really a Russian agent who was acting under his direct orders.

One or two days ago for me. After getting it closed the sucker came up again when I reopened the browser.

Yes me too.  had to open/close Firefox a few times before I opened firefox and it said it couldn't reload the page and gave an option to start a new session.  I just bookmarked the forum rather than go through the main page it seems to bypass the nasty popup.

Max,

I have been noticing this for about a month now- maybe even longer, across all of my platforms. My iPhone gets redirected to a Russian page. At home, where I use Firefox, I alternately get redirected to the Russian page or sometimes (more recently) to Google's search page. At work, I use MS Explorer and I also get redirected to the Russian page or  Google's search page. My work computer is isolated from my Iphone and home computer, so I know it didn't "catch" it from my phone or laptop. So, that's IOS, Firefox and Explorer that are all affected. Next time I get the Russian page, I will take a screenshot and post it for you.

Hey guys - sorry about this. I saw this today myself. The ad network is looking into it, I hope to have it removed on Friday. They say rogue ads slip in to their network unfortunately. But hopefully they can remove this one in a hurry. Thanks.
