BroadwayRay
The parallels are interesting. A chance six QBs will be taken in the first round, just like in '83, if Mason Rudolph squeaks into the first round. Darnold is viewed as the no-brainer no. 1, like Elway in '83, followed by a bunch of talented guys with a bunch of question marks. If it plays out like '83, three of the QBs picked will be Hall of Famers. But the Jets need to break with history by not totally ******* it up. Before the Bridgewater/McCown signings and trade, I would have so been down with a Mayfield/Falk draft class.
pointman
Why do I keep clicking these types of threads, and then finding myself not surprised yet eyerolling at what I find? I blame me... and you, the OP.
Bleedin Green
So maybe the Jets will be the team who picks a QB that refuses to play for them and is forced to be traded? Or perhaps the one who opts for a different league (XFL is making a comeback after all)? There's plenty that can go wrong for the Jets if mimicking the 1983 draft. There's also a chance it could end up more like the 1999 draft.
Sonny Werblin
Let's not forget that for as much crap as the Jets get for passing on Marino, that KC and the Pats passed on Marino earlier in the draft and selected Todd Blackledge and Champagne Tony Eason, respectively. The Jets actually managed to select the best non HOF QB of the six.

In the 30 for 30 on it, the highly respected Ron Wolff laments passing on Marino It wasn't the pot he had a rep for being kinda dumb lol
Grandy
Personally, I get more '04 vibes from this class.
derp
I think Rudolph is going to go in like the fourth round. I also get more ‘04 vibes with this class.
