NYJ Hall Of Famers

Below is a list of the players who have played on the Jets and are in the HOF.  I guess we've really only had 3 who were really Jets (and a lot of our fanbase thinks Curtis Martin was overrated).  I wonder if there's any other team who has had fewer HOFers since the Namath/Maynard era.

1) Joe Namath
2) Don Maynard
3) Curtis Martin

4) John Riggins
5) Ronnie Lott
6) Art Monk
7) Brett Favre
8) Ladanian Tomlinson
9) Jason Taylor

1) Joe Namath - Jet
2) Don Maynard - Jet
3) Curtis Martin - Jet

4) John Riggins - Redskins HOF'er
5) Ronnie Lott - 49'ers HOF'er
6) Art Monk - Redskins HOF'er
7) Brett Favre - Packers HOF'er
8) Ladanian Tomlinson - Chargers HOF'er
9) Jason Taylor - Dolphins HOF'er

FYP.

Left out:

Bill Parcells - Giants HOF'er
Weeb - Jets HOF'er

The list of "Primarily Jet" HOF'er since SBIII is spectacularly small.

In part because legit guys (Klecko, best example) don't seem to get a fair shot or a vote commensurate to their play.

In part we have a few guys in the future who might have a shot (lost of Centers whose names start with M, i.e. Mawae, Mangold).

And in part because alot of our best players were really a step (or two or three) below HOF level, i.e. Al Toon,Westley Walker, Wayne Chrebet, Freeman McNeil, Mark Gastinblow, Mo Lewis, etc, etc, etc.

We have had a fair enough share of "Hall of Very Good".  Just not Hall of Fame.

Curtis Martin was not drafted by the Jets.  Riggins was drafted by the Jets.  Curtis Martin was a workhorse and had a heart of a lion.  I don't care what the fanbase thinks.  And Revis will be in the Hall of Fame one day.  Joe Klecko is not in, but deserves to be.

But it is pathetic that the Jets have so small a number in the Hall.

I agree with you on this.  I'm a big fan of the guy.  But there is definitely a part of the fanbase who thinks he's overrated.

Jets have a pretty impressive OL with guys who by all rights should be in the HOF: Mawae, Mangold, Hill, Powell, with a pretty good argument for Brick. Throw in Klecko and Revis as should-bes and you have a really nice list. Unfortunately only like 3 will likely get in, so back to being pathetic, lol.
