What 2 QBs do you want already OFF THE BOARD when it's the Jets turn to pick?

Because we need yet another QB thread... :D  But seriously, I'm really getting the sense that there's a wide variety of opinions and desires around which QB people want.  I also think there is a very real and palpable fear that Macc could screw this up by taking the wrong guy when given the choice between only two of the four QBs.  And, the draft disinformation campaigns are in full swing right now.  Nobody seems to know who is going where (which I think is a good thing).

Out of Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Mayfield, what two QBs do you hope are already taken so that Macc doesn't even have the choice of selecting them?

For me, I think I'm hoping that both Joshs are somehow gone.  I think they are the two riskiest options (although both are big time talents) and the Jets really need a guy with a high floor at #3.  This franchise can't suffer a 3-year setback if Rosen takes a head hit and retires in Year 2, or if Allen simply never "dials it in" on accuracy at the NFL level with it's tight passing lanes and small windows.  IMO, Mayfield is a known entity and being an inch or two shorter than desired is something I can tolerate.  I also think Darnold's ball security issues can be fixed/reduced more easily than what ails Allen.  Again, just my opinion.

So whether it's due to complete fear of the prospect being a good NFL QB or a fear that Macc will screw this up because he can't evaluate QBs correctly, which TWO QBs do you hope the Jets don't even have the option of drafting?  Another way to ask this, which TWO of the FOUR do you definitely not want?

Allen and Rosen.

Mayfield and Darnold are the best two in my opinion. Although I would have no problem if the team ended up with Rosen either.

This.

I really want Mayfield.  I'm not a scout or anything, I just have the best feeling about him.

I wonder if we can figure out a way to ask this same exact question, 963 times before the draft?

I’m a fan of the current, bitonti fueled iteration, “maybe we’re not taking a qb at all, guys.”

The thing that I find most interesting is I've heard guys like Mayock say, "If Baker Mayfield was 2/3 inches taller he'd be right up there in the top 2".

The guy has a big set of brass balls, he's no pussy, and that's what this organization needs. It just seems to me you need a guy that's smart, accurate & excites the guys around him with his play. Once guys start having confidence in their QB, they themselves straighten up from being slouched over & bummed out to being focused and more into the game.

Watching Bryce Petty last year was f*cking PAINFUL! OMG, when he was overthrowing those swing passes and had zero feel in the pocket, I was thinking, "We wasted years on this guy & didn't draft Deshaun Watson?". It's wild to think that not only do we have the worst starting QB, we had the worst 2nd & 3rd string QBs in the league, how the hell is that even possible?

If I was the owner when Terry Bradway was supposedly pounding on the table for Russell Wilson, after witnessing Jets QBs for years, I would have been like do what it takes! It's unreal to me how since Brick & Mangold how these Jet GMs have ignored QBs at the top of the draft, or missed so badly (uh, maybe someone should have listened to Pete Carrol who told anyone that would listen that Sanchez should have stayed in school), and ignored the Oline since 2011.

If they don't take a QB at 3, I'm not going to fly a billboard over Florham Park, I'm going to fly a kamikaze mission straight into Mac's office.

Personally, i just can’t wait till we finally draft a QB and we can get on to blasting the pick and calling the lucky fella a bust.

See, I don’t see this at all.  On the contrary I feel like Jets fans see even a glimmer of hope, and then will throw literally everyone else under the bus to maintain that feeling.  One go route to Robbie Anderson in training camp and we’ll fire two offensive coordinators before finally admitting that maybe the guy stinks.

That's one thing I'll agree with and why I wouldn't bitch about picking Mayfield if two other QBs are gone.  The Jets have no identity on offense.  Zero.  You can name just about any other NFL team and immediately know who they are on offense......Packers revolve around Aaron Rodgers, the Jaguars are running team with Fournette, Steelers - The Killers B's of Brown and Bell, The Patriots identity is Brady, Gronk and any 3 other dudes who once caught a football, etc.  The Jets were once Curtis Martin's team on offense, in the 80's we were balanced with Freeman McNeil, Walker and Toon.  Right now....what are the Jets?  Are they a running team?  Are they a team like the Cowboys where the offensive line has made the magic happen?  Are the Jets a passing team led by its WRs or focused on great TE's?  There is no answer because there is no epicenter or strength of the offense.  We have lurched from one adequate veteran QB (Fitz) to another adequate veteran QB (McCown) who is surrounded by a cast of sometimes skilled but always old or injured misfits (Anderson, Forte, Enunwa, etc.).  Mayfield would be a huge upgrade in that regard.  There would be something to point at and say, "THAT!  That is the straw that will stir the drink of the Jets offense!"

Lol. I secretly don’t even want Rosen.

I want Al Bundy. How can anyone forget his prolific 4 touchdown game for the Polk High Panthers in the 1966 city championship game against rival school Andrew Johnson High? Throwing a TD in the finals seconds to win the game and defeating his former nemesis “Spare Tire” Dixon?

The moxy on THAT guy? Boy...

Mayfield and Allen. Either would be huge reaches, considering our draft slot and what we gave up to get there. A little guy or a project, at 3rd overall? Yikes.

So, if Allen goes 1 or 2 and Rosen drops to us, is it a reach then?

This is almost certainly to be the case.

Reach for the team that takes Allen, yes. Rosen is our guy. Jets are even running paid ads with him.

We should thank the football gods if we have a shot at Allen - He's not going to be there but he's easily the best prospect...IMO.

I, personally, want nothing to do with Rosen - so for me Rosen would be the massive reach.

It's all a matter of opinion.
