(Update 4/3/18:) Felony charges have been dropped. Anderson now only faces one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.

A Broward State Attorney spokesperson tells me "there was a possible discrepancy regarding the initial estimated speed, but there is no doubt that the defendant was driving recklessly."

"The other charges were declined, not filed, due to insufficient evidence," the spokesperson says.

Initial story:

New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson continues to run into trouble with the law in South Florida.

The former South Plantation star was arrested early Friday morning in Sunrise.

Anderson is facing several serious charges including: harm to a public servant/family, reckless driving, eluding police, and resisting arrest.

According the cops, Anderson sped past a marked police car at 105 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. Anderson also allegedly ran two red lights and did not stop for the officer behind him.

After finally coming to a stop, Anderson told the officer who arrested him that he was going to find his wife, "f*ck her, and n*t in her eye."

The police report says Anderson bragged about how much money he had and how the officer was just trying to "ruin his fun."

Quick Q: What does this accomplish? Getting "in" a thread before things you don't care for start to occur...is there a medal or a cookie associated with this? Asking for a friend.

I wonder if the cop's cam/recorder were on (if he even had one).  Without it, insufficient evidence.  With it, prosecutor felt it was not a real threat.  Either way, there will be no suspension for this.  End of story.  Any suspension would be from the next stupid thing he does.  And we all know that there will be more incredibly stupid things from him

I'm sure this thread will devolve into a mess but the truth is Anderson needs to get

his life together and stop placing himself into these situations.  He still may get a

1-2 game suspension

Even if the league doesn't punish him, the Jets should.

Maybe but at most it;s going to be 1-2 games now with no jail time

I doubt he gets suspended.  In this enviournment - they didn't drop the other charges because they were nice guys or he was a pro-athlete..they dropped the other chargers for one of two reasons.

Keep in mind - from the very beginning he and his lawyers contended the truth will come out and he'll be fine...

1) There was no proof he said any of that to the police - in which case he can't be suspended...

2) Or what the cops did or said before Anderson saying what he said was innaproriate (at best) and the DA would rather let him walk then expose the police to additionall abuse claims.  In the current enviornment no way the league suspends him for that...

I don't think the league suspends players for reckless driving...but I could be wrong about that.

I have no interest in defending Anderson and the dipsh*t that he is, but I feel pretty confident a guy on an undrafted rookie contract doesn't have millions of dollars to spend on anything.

No jail and no suspension good for him .  All the jets fans who jump the gun look crazy now lol

What in the history of the NFL tells you there has to be criminal charges (which he’s not completely off the hook yet) in order to be suspended? I’d say he still gets a game or two.

When he's in FL I doubt Anderson gets noticed by more than 1 or 2 people a day.  He's "famous" in the loosest sense of the word.  He hasn't made millions either.  I'm sure his lawyer is good but I don't think he had the Dream Team Part Deux.

When I was 18 I made a dumb mistake and was also only given a slap on the wrist - and I had none of the above.

I think cop slept on it and decided some idiot blabbering nonsense wasn't the same thing as a terroristic threat.

Yes because justice was served. you try doing what he did and let us know how it works out for you.

The charges were dropped because there wasn't enough evidence. You are basing your opinion on hearsay.

for reckless driving?  Nope.

None of the law enforcement claims of his rude/offensive/"threatening " comments have been verified.  There is nothing in this I see for which the NFL can suspend him.
