KRL
McCain backed up Bosa & Ingram in LA and had 5 sacks in very limited reps, with our cap space we should be interested: http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/17430/chris-mccain http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/04/15/source-chargers-rescind-chris-mccains-rfa-tender/ Another pass rusher has entered the free-agency market, more than a month after the market opened. Per a league source, the Chargers have rescinded the restricted free-agency tendered placed on defensive end Chris McCain. The Chargers applied a right-of-first-refusal tender to McCain, who had five sacks in 2017, his first year with the Chargers. The former Cal defender had joined the Chargers in 2016, as a member of the practice squad. McCain immediately becomes eligible to sign with another team, once the removal of the $1.907 million tender becomes official. Even if McCain had signed the tender, the Chargers could have cut him. However, he would have been required to pass through waivers. As it stands, he can sign anywhere he wants.
C Mart
Good find. Wonder if there is something yet to come out. Failed test? But agree w/you Jets should give a look
mrcoops
Odd that they have removed the tender. It was only for $1.9M and pass-rushers are very valuable. Unless there is an off the field issue, this guy has to be worth a shot. Get on it, Macc.
Barkus
Never heard of this guy, but we need all the help we can get. He didn’t get much playing time and 2 of his 5 sacks came in one game. Maybe he was a victim of being blocked on the depth chart by Bosa??

That's a quite light isn't it for A DE in a 3-4 ? Seems better fit for a 4-3. Plus the question... Why is he now available ? Hmmmmm
T0mShane
Didn’t he get kicked out of Cal and then the Dolphins?

Hmmmmm He played the LEO position as a situational pass rusher in Gus Bradley’s 4-3. He is more of an OLB in a 4-3 and not a true 3-4 OLB.

Still about 10 lbs lighter than you would prefer. But the Jets have a big hole at OLB right now. Couldn’t hurt to bring him in on the cheap.
