SouthernJet
1) How much of the weekly gameplan does Mangini put together, AND 2) does Mangini make the in-game adjustements, and finally 3) does Mangini manage the clock on the defensive side of the ball? For example: that Samuel int for a TD against the Jags was a cover that Mangini called. Belli was against it - thought the scheme to risky. Mangini called it anyway. It worked to perfection. Belli went over to Mangini and gave him a hug and an "atta boy!" I can send you the tape to see for yourself - BB spoke about it after the game. Say what you will about Bill, but he does give credit where credit is due. 3) Mangini handles personnel packages but not clock management.

Green DNA
We still have Dick Curl, he can take care of the clock management.

Garb
SJ - what I posted is the truth....plus, I live in NE (local Pats coverage is much more detailed and accurate than National coverage). rbljet - it's great having something to sweat about and participating in real smack. PatsFanTX
come on pat posters, is Garb the only one with any input SJ, Garb pretty much nailed it in her post. Even when Weis and Crennel were with the Pats, BB gave them each his philosophy of what the weekly gameplan (both offense and defense) should look like and it was their responsibility to draw up and execute said plan. Mangini has done the same thing this year. Mangini is also 100% responsible for the defensive packages and schemes that he puts on the field. PatsFanTX
thats impressive in this injury plagued Pats year Even early on in the season when the Pats secondary was being torched, I thought the DB's (with the exception of Starks) looked pretty good in completing their assignments. There were very few blown coverages (a sign of good coaching and execution) but they were physically incapable of covering receivers for more then 5 seconds. Once the front seven starting playing better (around week 11) the weak secondary became better as a result. And don't forget last week, it was Mangini who made the call to change the coverage on the fly and it resulted in Asante's pick for a TD return. Garb
yes, and Duane Starks was put to pasture once Mangini decided that Hobbs was a good enough risk to start.

Good point Garb, that was Mangini's call once he thought Hobbs was ready. BTW, watch for Plummer and the Broncos to go after Hobbs all night long on Saturday. I guess we'll see what size cajones the kid has.

He has had a rather up and down season - more down. Both Samuel and Hobbs are midgets with good quickness and mediocre speed. Now that I think of it - whomever is covering Rod Smith will get picked on. Rod Smith - notrious Patriots nemisis.
