In the last hour, multiple sources tell me there’s a late push for Josh Rosen in the New York Jets' war room. We mentioned Rosen was still in the running with the Jets at the same time we quoted an insider stating Baker Mayfield to the Jets is a "done deal.” The belief is still that Mayfield still ends up a Jet if he’s available when the team is called to the clock, but the Rosen push is on.

This is a classic tactic in case he was wrong about the Jets and Mayfield he hedges his bets just in case. There is no such thing as a "late push" complete garbage.

I wouldnt call it a hedge.

These guys just get a continuous stream of nonsense fed to them. Impossible to discern whats real and what not. He's just doing his job reporting what hes been told.

That being said, it would be nice then maybe if the initial statements weren't always so definitive. I mean we are still getting Melvin Ingram right?

Literally every draft dude does this every year. In the last three days, they all issue panicked tweets and blog posts about late risers(!) and late fallers(!) to cover their asses. The revenue streams for most of these draft bros are dead in the water after tomorrow night, unless they transition to being awful fantasy football “experts.” None of these dudes know much beyond what Mayock and Kiper puke out. All they’re doing this week is giving themselves cover for next year when they’re trying to push their toilet paper draft guides.

Just learned from NFLN Total Access that Jedd Fisch, Rosen's OC at UCLA last year, was Jeremy Bates' QB Coach when Bates was the OC in Seattle. I vaguely recall that Fisch being reported as a possible member of Bates' short list for QB coach once he got promoted to OC job here earlier this year. So Rosen is the most ready to see the field, the one that provides the most job security for the FO and our OC has a direct connection with his college OC. Plus the Jets made the trade that after Rosen's pro day.  Now I'm pretty much 99.9% certain the pick will be Rosen. I prefer my QB to have a bit more athleticism and arm talent but I can live with that pick.

What. He is an immaculate fit for the Giants.

Depends on what the Giants think their chances are this year, and maybe next with Eli. If they really plan on contending for 2 years with Eli, I don't think you want Rosen sitting on the bench giving interviews and speaking his mind. You draft Rosen, you are saying goodbye to Eli sooner rather than later. I just am not clear on where they stand with Eli.

They’re going to start off 2-6 if they’re lucky.

All about generating clicks to their mocks, articles etc...add to that it’s a NY team...

Rosen has the most arm talent in this draft - not sure what you're thinking. Arm strength is a small part of arm talent, and Rosen has plenty for the next level.
