R44
Jan. 10 - Former Vikings coach Mike Tice is among the contenders to replace Herman Edwards as coach of the New York Jets. Jets executive vice president/general manager Terry Bradway said during a news conference Monday that Tice is on the team's early list of candidates and will interview sometime next week. "Mike is a good football coach," Bradway said. "I thought he did a real good job. I thought it was a little unfair, some of the criticism up there, regarding some of the things that did happen." Tice, who was fired Jan. 1 after the Vikings' season-ending 34-10 victory over Chicago, had a 33-34 record in four seasons as the team's coach. The Vikings made the playoffs just once during that time, but Bradway said, "I think with the circumstances they had up there in Minnesota, he did a good job." Tice, who grew up on Long Island, declined comment. Patrick Star http://www.newsjerks.com/images/1_21_spongebob.jpg
