Yeah its awesome. However im very surprised that Many dont seem thrilled.  I would nave thought 99 percent of fans would do cartwheels when darnold fell in our laps

To be fair matt ryan had a sh*tload of turnovers as well.  Darnold was playing behind a pretty sh*tty oline

Darnold won’t play this yr under the worst Oline in nfl. Mac will hopefully put Oline 1st instead instead of last for once and revamp the Oline next offseason through FA and draft

The vast majority of Jet fans got exactly what they wanted and I hope they will finally give it a rest . I didn’t want this kid, but he’s a Jet and so he gets my support . 19 years ago or so, the Jets missed out on a chance to draft Peyton Manning who decided to stay in school . Truth be told, I didn’t like Manning either . I think this kid is the closest thing to Peyton Manning that I have seen in years but not with his pedigree .  Jets got the consensus best QB in the draft and so everyone with the exception of @JiF should be happy . 

Let’s see if this forum can come together and be a force behind this team once and for all .

They are caught up on the history of USC quarterbacks.  Lets face it it hasn't been very impressive.  Plus this past season Darnold threw a ton of picks which had some folks a bit down on him.  I think this guy all the tools to elite; he just needs to be coached up a bit.  The bottom line he was considered the best quarterback prospect by the vast majority of Draft Analysts for most of the year.  He is absolutely a steal for us.

I know "morning after" analyses are not worth the pixels they're composed of, but when you see the inevitable "Winners / Losers" article, with Jets first under Winners and Bills & Phish in Losers, it does give you a nice warm feeling.

Darnold was the best QB in this draft and the Jets got him at #3.  There is absolutely nothing to complain about here.  It was a great day for the organization and hopefully a turning point for the performance and perception of the team going forward.

Enjoy this, Jets fans.  We deserve it!

That's a phenomenon of team messageboard. Fans get attached to their preferences, then react. Thing is, the possibility that Darnold would be available at 3 has always been an outside shot - and with good reason.

You look at other teams or general sports forums, Jets come across very, very well at scooping Darnold at 3. All made possible by trading with the right team (COLTS) at the right time (WAY BEFORE DRAFT).  

Again, go compare general consensus at what Cleveland did at 1&4. We're working with a lot w/ Darnold. Great day.

Darnold was left off JN polls because we had no realistic shot at getting him. Then Macc delivered the impossible. We got a legit starter to push McCown. The team is already improved.

How can anyone complain about this? Nobody is ever guaranteed to succeed coming out of College into the NFL, but we did our very best this time to secure a guy who could be our Franchise QB for the next 15 years. Great pick, great job, and I am thrilled and excited again to be a Jet fan despite the lousy HC we have.
