Francesa has for a long time been an anti-Jets guy. Some if this was personal and petty, I remember hearing stories that he was pissed because the Jets FO wouldn't give him interviews or something to that effect. I thought he was better without the Dog. I haven't really heard Carlin etc but I assume they're ok. It was just too early for Mike to retire. Before he left he did seem to be acting very nostalgic. And maybe there was some self questioning there.  He had a dispute with the FAN and left and I assume could have gotten another gig with somebody. I did hear a few sour grapes about it even from Beningo the other day. As for Kay, he's a lightweight and his show is more about them and than about sports. He makes up controversy and it's to me boring. Mike F is basically about sports even if you don't like him. Very little on the BS side.

He saw boomer and carton were becoming more popular than him. They were increasing their fan base while he was consistently losing his. He couldn’t handle that. Not surprisingly, as soon as carton had to resign he asks WFAN if they want him to stay and they no thanks lol. Now he begged to come back and taking half salary.

I wish we’d drafted Rosen because he’d go out his way to be an ass to Francesa and in turn his listeners would turn on Rosen and then less Francesa listeners would be Jets fans and there’d be less stupid Francesa threads.

I think you're misunderstanding the Francesa thing.  It's mostly about laughing at Francesa's bloated ego more than his actual take on sports.  Admittedly, he does get some good interviews, but he also interrupts them constantly.  All in good fun!

You say that but there are still callers and demand for this archaic form of sports entertainment. Maybe its because I’m a millennial but I don’t care what Kevin on the car phone thinks, and I don’t care what Francesa thinks about Kevin’s opinion.

I haven't listened to Francessa in years. Hell I couldn't even if I wanted too. I do remember a time when he was much less of an a-hole though. He did have an awesome show on NFL Sundays there for a bit. You know he will come across as this concerning the Jets and Darnold though at least for a little while:

I don't think he'll kill the Giants.  My guess is he'll say he would've done things differently but obviously the Giants think they can win now and maybe they believe in Davis Webb.  Something like that.  I have a feeling he's also going to praise Lauletta as being a good sleeper prospect (but maybe I'm just projecting - lol).
