And then they screwed the hot desk girl at the local library by taking Darnold a year after.

lol, Darnold is a pubic hair of talent compared to Mahomes II. Darnold will manage the game effectivly but isn't near the same talent as Mahomes II.

You are either f*cking insane or you are super biased.

i’m going to give your sanity the benefit of the doubt and say you are just completely and utterly biased.

Sam Darnold has 10000000000x more talent than Pat Mahomes.

Absolutely not. I was a huge Rosen fan before Darnold was drafted. I will always be the one to tell you that Mahomes little spread numbers and his athletic ability isn’t as valuable nor does it translate to the pro game in the same manner that Darnold’s skill set will. He’s had a chance to run both a pro style and a spread style. He’s the ultimate improv artist and he has had to throw into way tighter windows during his college career.

Pat Mahomes can’t f*ck with Darnold on just about any level. Be real.

I mean, you have a Texas Tech profile pic.....you can’t seriously be debating bias opinions with me.

Big 12 QBs seem to be the equivalent of QMJHL players in hockey. I mean those Q guys score 100 points in 50 games. Obviously they're the next Gretzkys.

If there is one thing the Jets are in need of, it's points!

You have a Darnold avatar, what's the difference? Look forward to watching this play out. I'm a huge Jets fan but in all seriousness Darnold has nothing on Mahomes.

I lean slightly to Mahomes as the better NFL QB 15 years from now, but it’s very very very close IMO, and would have been extremely happy with either, and it did not look like we were going to get either till about 3 days before the draft, now that we have one of the 2 I am ecstatic, and all is forgiven for passing on Mahomes lol.

I have a Darnold avatar because he is our new QB. If Rosen was our guy I would have a Rosen avatar.

Yeah...see how that really doesn’t work both ways lol? Anyways, i’ll keep my eye on this Mych guy just understand that Mahomes isn’t on Darnold’s level and if you want there is always a Chiefs board.

To me Mahomes, and Darnold were 1A and 1B from the last 2 drafts so I’m good now, all that frustration the past 12 months for passing on Mahomes is finally lifted.

If Mahomes had such better talent then why did he slip to 10 when there were many other QB needy teams in the top 5, and Darnold has been hailed the next Elite prospect, and favored by 17/22 teams in the deepest QB class in almost 15 years?

Fair enough on the whole 1A and 1B comparison. I was just mainly tripping over the whole “Darnold has a pubic hair of talent compared to Mahomes”

Left me shell shocked to be quite honest lol...

But Darnold is really going to be good. I just feel that in my bones. We should all feel relieved.

What Im saying is that a lot of people assume these big scoring league guys automatically carry their respective games over to the pros. They dont. There's always exceptions, sure.

One of my recent favorites was Manzeil. Those assuming he was going to run around for 10 seconds avoiding DEs and OLBs in the pros were flat out nuts IMHO.

i dont have a Darnold avatar, and i have watched plenty of both. there is a huge question mark about how Mahomes translates to the pros where the throwing windows are way tighter and defenders are way better. Darnold has flaws that need to be fixed but his game is way more NFL ready otherwise.

Top 10 QB prospects of past 3 NFL draft classes: Darnold No. 1

Editor's note: NFL.com analyst and former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah of the Move The Sticks Podcast shares some of his scouting notes, including:

» A player projection for each of the 2018 NFL Draft picks that changed hands in a blockbuster weekend trade

But first, we kick off this week's notebook with Jeremiah's look at how this year's group of quarterback prospects stacks up against the top QB talents that have entered the league in the previous two drafts.

* * *

I always believe it's helpful during the evaluation process to rank the current group of prospects among the players at the position from the previous two drafts. I recently looked up the grades I gave to the quarterbacks in the '16 and '17 draft classes and I slotted them in with this year's crop of talent. Here's the order I have them in based on their draft grade.

1) Sam Darnold, USC
Draft class: 2018
The skinny: I had very similar draft grades on each of the top four players on this list. However, I gave Darnold a slightly higher grade than Carson Wentz because of his durability and level of competition from college.

2) Carson Wentz, North Dakota State
Draft class: 2016; second overall pick, Philadelphia Eagles
The skinny: Wentz had an ideal skill set coming out of NDSU. His ability to drive the ball accurately and create with his legs made him a special prospect.

3) Josh Rosen, UCLA
Draft class: 2018
The skinny: Rosen is the best pure passer in this time frame (2016-2018). His motion, footwork and arm talent are off the charts.

4) Jared Goff, Cal
Draft class: 2016; first overall pick, Los Angeles Rams
The skinny: Goff was very smooth and accurate at Cal. He was an effortless thrower and you've seen that carry over to the NFL.

5) Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
Draft class: 2018
The skinny: Mayfield is the shortest member of this group (measured in at 6-foot 5/8 and 215 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine), but I gave him a strong grade based on his touch, playmaking ability and toughness.

6) Josh Allen, Wyoming
Draft class: 2018
The skinny: Allen was an inconsistent performer at Wyoming, but his good moments are incredibly impressive. He is very capable of outplaying my draft grade.

7) Deshaun Watson, Clemson
Draft class: 2017; 12th overall pick, Houston Texans
The skinny: I had Watson as my highest-rated quarterback in last year's class, but based on early returns, I was way too low with my grade. I had concerns with his accuracy and decision making, but he cleaned up both areas last fall. He was off to a remarkable start as a rookie before suffering an ACL tear in November.

8) Mitchell Trubisky, North Carolina
Draft class: 2017; second overall pick, Chicago Bears
The skinny: I loved Trubisky's talent, but he had a very small sample size of production. He was a full-time starter for only one year at UNC, but his upside was tremendous.

9) DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame
Draft class: 2017; 52nd overall pick (Round 2), Cleveland Browns
The skinny: I had a big grade on Kizer heading into his final year at Notre Dame, but he struggled mightily to maintain that level of play. I ended up dropping his grade prior to the 2017 draft and he landed in a really tough spot in Cleveland. He was rushed into action before he was ready to play, and the results weren't pretty. Now, he's getting a fresh start after being traded to the Green Bay Packers earlier this month.

10) Paxton Lynch, Memphis
Draft class: 2016; 26th overall pick, Denver Broncos
The skinny: Lynch was a polarizing player coming out of Memphis. His size, arm talent and athleticism were enticing, but I had concerns about the adjustment he would have to make from his college offense to an NFL system.

Based on their pre draft grades, and on the money. Mahomes skillset translates to "above average/+ armstrength". Nothing else special about his game that translated to the NFL.  To be honest, Paxton Lynch has a very comperable skillset to Mahomes, raw system QB from a simplified Air Raid.

To be fair this is going by pre-rookie year and strictly off Pro “prospect” grades.

Plenty of better prospects pre-draft than Alvin K. And look at him.

No Alvin Kamara has a bad pre draft, if you actually graded him off his film, and skill set he was a 1st round talent, another guy I loved last year.

Paxton Lynch 20th overall, Kizer 2nd round, Mahomes 10th overall, and KC gave up a sh*t ton to get him, and Sean Payton said if Mahomes was on the board he was the pick for the Saints.

DJ is not showing a very good side of his scouting ability by openly posting this.

You couldn’t be more wrong, and don’t ask me to explain further, if you want that go search the draft forum for my Mahomes thread.

Wentz, Mahomes, Darnold all are 1A, 1B, 1C last 3 years in that order IMO.  Very happy to have one of them.
