Day 1: The Jets should be ecstatic that Darnold was still on the board at No. 3 overall. Our No. 2 player on the PFF Draft Board, Darnold has shown exceptional high-end play, throwing with the accuracy and anticipation desired from an NFL quarterback. He has two strong years of grading under his belt, and while last year was not as good as anticipated, Darnold was still the No. 3-graded quarterback in the nation outside of his four poor games. He must cut back on the bad decisions and fumbles that marred that four-game stretch, as he finished with the fifth-highest percentage of turnover-worthy plays in the draft class last season, but it’s the big-time throws that make him a potentially special prospect as he ranked second. Darnold has shown well in crunch time, whether at the end of the half or with the game on the line, and his ability to make plays both inside and outside the pocket will lead to memorable moments for Jets fans.

Day 2: With only a third-round selection on Day 2, the Jets add athletic defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd to the mix, a small-school player who looked strong during his limited reps at the Senior Bowl. He has outstanding size and athleticism, and he could develop into a good all-around player given his measurables.

Day 3: Christopher Herndon showed strong big-play ability last season, forcing nine missed tackles on only 40 receptions and averaging 9.3 yards after the catch per reception. Parry Nickerson could become a steal in the sixth round as he has three outstanding years of production to go with 4.32 speed. He allowed a passer rating of only 41.7 in 2017 and 32.5 when targeted in 2016. Folorunso Fatukasi is an outstanding run defender, grading between 82.8 and 86.1 in all four years at UConn, though he provided little as a pass-rusher, including a 3.1 pass-rush productivity last year that ranked 131st in the draft class.

Overall grade: Elite

I followed PFF online a lot leading up to the draft, they had Mayfield way ahead of all of the other QBs almost combined!!!

They were the ones who made me feel real good about the Jets if we were "forced" into securing Baker's services but I am not crying about Darnold!!

Great Grade!!

Not sure what to think. Most other sites only gave us a B at best (of course the Pats are A+). Not sure I am thrilled with some of their selections (or more like some players they past on). I also don't want to take the high praise from a group that ranks Mayfield head and shoulders above the other QBs.

Either way, I am glad we got our guy. I wish we didn't need to give up so many 2nds, but better than 1sts; Normally, to get this type of QB we would have to have had the #1 or #2 pick. Biggest concern I have heard was that Darnold isn't ready, but you don't draft a QB for the 1st year he plays.

I would have preferred to get some real OL players, but it wasn't a good draft for them and we didn't have any #2s anyway. I guess we could have drafted OL in the first and the second; Unfortunately, that would likely doom us to no QB for another 5 years - there are too many really bad teams out there to expect to draft 1 or 2 next year even with McCown as our QB.

Either way, Elite from PFF dose not sound right.

What can I say? PFF gives them an elite grade. Okay. Time will tell.

Quite correct. We can revisit this draft 2-3 years down the road. That's the only way it can be accurately measured.

I'm not sure how they rate. Is it based on value or strictly picks? Also they had less picks so the average would be higher assuming it is used in the overall rating.

Their Mayfield/Darnold accuracy comparison seems skewed considering the type of routes Mayfield made hay on...

It's a good Draft, it's not like our line is like the one that got David Carr killed in Houston.

Not even close.  We have an average OL but it’s not even bottom 5.  Seahawks, Bills are way worse

PFF says our draft was Elite.

Shaun O’Hara says the Jets were losers in draft.

Seems like the post draft analysis, is as all over the place as the mock drafts before it.

It's nearly universally being praised. Only Giant homers like O'Hara are panning it in any meaningful way.
