And the Winner of the JN 2018 Mock Draft is...

@Integrity28

As a reminder, points are calculated by the difference in draft slot between where one of us took a player and where he went in the actual draft.  So if we took someone at 50 and they went 40th in the real thing, that is 10 points.  I looked at it two different ways this year.  I also weighted the points, putting more weight on day 1 picks than day 2 and day 3.  For the weighted average points, day 1 picks are multiplied by 3, day 2 picks by 2.  I also added 25 bonus points for any pick made to the right NFL team and 25 points for a pick in the right draft slot.  Either way, Integrity's draft for the Saints comes out on top:

Honorable mention to @HawkeyeJet, who finished a close second on both measures for his Bears draft:

Out of all 256 picks, we only had one player slotted in the right spot.  The Broncos selected Royce Freeman at #71 overall.  In our mock, @Greenseed4 selected Freeman 71 overall, but to the Reskins.

We had the following 5 players drafted to the right teams, but all in different draft slots:

@HawkeyeJet had Roquan Smith to the Bears at 12; he went to Chicago at 8.

@King P used one of the Jets original 2s to select Braden Smith at 49 for the Colts; the Colts used our other 2 to select Smith at 37.

@LAD_Brooklyn picked Terrell Edmunds for Pitt in the 2nd round; the Steelers selected him in the 1st.

@RobR had Cedrick Wilson at 116 for Dallas.  He went 208 overall to the Cowboys.  Ouch, that one hurt.

@Paradis picked Chase Edmonds for Arizona in the 5th at 152; the Cards selected him at 134.

I wanted to pick him in the first after someone picked a stud ILB (forgot the name) right in front of me. But I felt that was way to early for a box safety and it seems the talking heads agree the Steelers reached

You are brilliant. Words don't capture the gratitude I have for your work -- considering none of us really know/owe each other anything.

nice job @Integrity28 -- i thought i was gonna steal this one until both my 4th and 6th rounders went Undrafted... fck.

Damn. I’m kind of astonished. I love doing this with you guys because it helps me learn about all the college players since I don’t watch NCAA FB.

The crash course of doing this the past couple years has been great. I learn a ton from all of you. I can’t say enough good things about the crew that organizes and moderates it.

Thanks guys! Great job to all participants, except T0m and Jif.

Awesome work as usual...thanks to everyone who participated and organized.

Maurice Hursts' fall killed me....I guess not as many teams thought he was actually "cleared"

My Indiana bias also was my downfall.  Shocking that two IU guys who people thought would be drafted (Cobbs and Tegray Scales) weren't drafted but Chris Covington was.  Covington is a freak athlete and made some plays this year, but he doesn't have much experience at all.  Otherwise I got some decent value with Parker and Avery and wasn't far off on my other picks at all.

There is a fine line between brilliance and madness.  I keep volunteering to do this year after year.  Running two of these mocks simultaneously on multiple sites some years.  You can decide on which side of that line I am on.
