MDL_JET
http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/article-7/Jets-to-Hold-Joint-Practices-with-Redskins-/82599405-9110-412b-9786-635295c46052?campaign=tw The Jets announced Tuesday they’ll participate in three days of joint training camp practices with the Redskins from Aug. 12-14 at Washington’s Bon Secours Training Center in Richmond, VA. The practices precede the Green & White’s nationally televised preseason road opener against the Redskins at FedExField on Thursday, Aug. 16. ESPN will broadcast the summer contest that will kick off at 8:00 p.m. “It will be a nice change of pace for our players to face another team,” Jets head coach Todd Bowles said of the workouts. “We’d like to thank the Redskins for having us. Hopefully, we can help each other prepare for the upcoming regular season.” The Jets haven’t participated in joint practices since 2005 when the team left its Long Island facility to conduct drills with the crosstown Giants at SUNY Albany. Conversely, this will mark the Redskins’ third set of joint practices in the last five years (Patriots, 2014 & Texans, 2015). “I’m extremely excited to welcome the Jets to Richmond for three days of practice,” Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said. “In the past, joint practices have given our coaching staff a great opportunity to evaluate our players in competitive situations against other teams, and we look forward to having that opportunity again this year by hosting the Jets.” All sessions will be open and free to the public, but times and details for each practice will be announced at a later date. “The Washington Redskins’ training camp in Richmond is an outstanding opportunity for Virginians to see their favorite players up close and spend a day with family and friends in one of the most exciting cities in the country,” Gov. Ralph Northam said. “On behalf of my fellow Virginians, I am thrilled to welcome the New York Jets to the Commonwealth as they and the Redskins prepare for the upcoming NFL season.”

I also think maybe Gruden can throw a few tips Darnold’s way maybe once or twice? Baha’i’m just saying.. the little things are what is going to make Darnold a star. In all seriousness though, it's not a bad thing for Darnold to see guys like Alex Smith up close and personal for 3 days of practices even after spending two months with Josh McCown. Would seem to be totally out of character for Bowles and Macc to volunteer for something like that. And since we were on about 7 or 8 years ago, I can't see the league asking us to do it. Ohio State NY Jets fan
Interesting choice of teams, rivals of the NY football vagiants, what does this mean for the speculation of draft collaboration? Cowboys next year? then Bills and Giants will schedule joint practice too... LOL ok, enough of the tabloid speculation - I think this is a great idea, should be fun to watch Is #KRL making the trip? would be great to have his insight
