Warrant Issued for Jets Receiver Robby Anderson After Missed Court Appearance

According to multiple publications, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson for failing to appear in front of a Florida judge stemming from an incident at a music festival last year in which Anderson was arrested after an altercation with law enforcement.

However, in an odd twist, it turns out that Anderson wasn’t the only one absent from the proceedings as his lawyer was also a no-show.

Just spoke to Robby Anderson’s attorney, Ed O’Donnell. He said they were unaware of any hearing. Says Robby did nothing wrong. He hopes to clear it up tomorrow.

According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, Ed O’ Donnell, Anderson’s attorney, claims that neither he nor Anderson were made aware of the court date, insisting this wasn’t negligence on the part of his client, but poor communication the he hopes will be cleared up today.

our court system is pretty archaic. it's amazing it runs as well as it does. so it's not inconceivable that neither robby nor his lawyer knew of the date.  especially since this was a small potatoes case in fl.

Sounds like a communications issue to me in which the attorney wrote down the wrong date.  

When you hire an attorney you expect the attorney to remind you of Court dates and appearances.   

I also find it mind boggling that the Court didn’t contact the attorney to find out what happened before issuing a bench warrant for an arrest.

When I was young and getting in trouble from time to time, the court sent me the wrong court date twice.  This is not really an issue since he has a lawyer who is supposed to be on top of this stuff.
