Our owner is good for the team

Don't quite know exactly how to say it but it sure seems like the impact Chris Johnson is having on the Jets is much more positive than Woody's.

He seems plugged in, assertive and someone the players want to play and win for.  Makes one realize how unlikable and unrelateable Woody is.

Comparatively speaking, I love the guy.  Woody is such a weakling pretending to be capable and a leader, basically an effete plutocrat if we wanna get all vocab about it.

Leon Hess was the Rich Kotite of owners.

I hope Woody stays in London, Ingalind forever.

Chris seems more down to earth, a man who cares. Woody always seemed like an elitist.

As long as he doesn't wear that douchey-looking cap with a green tie like his brother, he's an instant upgrade.

You would have to hope Trump gets reelected in 2020 for Woody to stay.

Woody always seemed like someone who was told what to say, or how to feel.  Chris seems much more natural, has the ability to formulate his own opinions, be not afraid to say them, and genuinely seems to be excited to be involved with this team.

Leadership flows from the top down, and that excitement and enthusiasm will have a trickle effect through this organization, we are already witnessing that.

I'm not one of the guys who dumped on Woody.  I think he does have the teams best interests at heart and wants to win even if he has made some questionable decisions.

I want to see this team successful before I sing Chris Johnson praises.

He is doing well but I still do not believe he knows any more about what the team should do than any poster on these forums.  He has totally bought into the we have a plan scenario from bowles and mac and I'm sure he is going to have the balls to make a big move if necessary when it should be made.

The Jets were 5-11 last year. And if he's so plugged in, why is Bowles still there?

Agreed. Hoping that after Woody's three year stay in the UK is over, the team continues with Chris as the front man.

I doubt that will happen since Woody is "the owner" but it sure would be nice.

The big test for Chris Johnson will be deciding what happens if the team goes 5-11 again this year.

Woody was definitely behind the Tebow fiasco, for that alone he should have been demoted to ball fetcher. Josh McDaniels was fired for drafting Tebow, but not to be outdone Woody trades for him! lmao! Many, many of us has said a fish rots from the head and it's almost incomprehensible this fan base had to go from Leon Hess to Woody Johnson, it was like having your fingers cut off than waterboarded.

Woody in his suits wearing that stupid Jets Gilligan hat at camp. Something tells me Chris Johnson was CHOMPING AT THE BIT to take over the Jets. He seems really into it but in a complimentary way. I think he loves football, where Woody likes to be the center of attention. The future looks bright!

Can this franchise notch some W’s before we start heaping goblets of fellatio on a new GM or owner or coach? For once can that happen? Is that too much to ask?

Would goblets of fellatio be something that one would pour on a bag of dicks? Asking for a friend in the mod lounge...

Outside of Woody being less involved in the day-to-day, no one here has any idea how the team is being "managed" by "ownership".

My hope is that perhaps this time period is to the Jets organization as George Steinbrenner's banishment in the early 90s was to the Yankees when Gene Michael was able to build a championship caliber team without a meddlesome owner getting in the way.

He wasn’t. This was outed somewhere a while ago. Rex and Tanny were sitting together in an airport when the news hit that Tebow was available for a trade. Rex immediately started talking about how Tebow beat his D earlier that year and how he felt he could help them in Wildcat situations. Tanny was reluctant but ran the idea up to Woody. Woody was against the idea completely. He felt it would bring the circus it eventually did, however Rex convinced both that Tebow was not being brought in as a QB, therefore there would be no controversy. Rex was a bonafide idiot, but Woody was deferring to his football people which is really what you want an owner to do. Problem is you also want your owner to hire good football people.
