I know it's very early for this but with the draft and the main part of free agency over, we have a good idea of what this team has to work with roster-wise.  So I figured it was a good time to ask how people view this team record-wise going into 2018.

I'm assuming Darnold won't be the day 1 starter (and might not play much at all this year) but I do think we'll see a Darnold impact on this season because there will be a lot more optimism about the future of this team.  Also I think we'll see a jump in the quality of play from some of our young players (like Adams, Maye and Leo).  Possibly Bridgewater will be a revelation as well (which alone would probably be worth a few wins).  And, as usual, the Patriots are the only team in our division that I think we have to fear (the Bills are young team on the rise like us and I still don't think the Dolphins have a FQB).

I was just noticing that absolutely everyone thinks the Jets are either the worst or second-worst team in the league and I have to disagree. The secondary should be pretty good. The DL should be pretty good. The LB unit is ok. The defense should be able to turn most games into a mosh pit, enough to keep the team in it until the end. On offense, they’ll run the ball and take their shots deep to Anderson and Pryor, so they’ll steal some points. Add to all this that Buffalo and Miami are taking a step back and the Jets should be able to squeeze between 6 to 8 wins out of this season, even if Darnold starts six games. I don’t see where this is a 3, 4 win team.

Of course a crap shoot but here it goes. We were in most games last year and I expect that or better this year. 9-7 no playoffs. Need to win one of last 3 weeks and we don't.

How can we be the second worst team in the league? We have players who do things and have names that I've read before on the backs of their shirts.

Maybe because every answer to this question is word vomit unless it consists of the names of teams that are worse than the Jets are.

Bills. Dolphins. Browns. Ravens. Broncos. Giants. Bears. Bucs. Cardinals.

Pick from among those.

Lord I hope the season doesn't go this way.  If the Jets start off 5-1, then go to 8-2, we won't see Darnold this season.

The good news in it is if the Jets start 8-2,miss the playoffs. Darnold doesn't play, Bowles is gone

Right now the the Jets are a 6-7 win team. I don't see how they are going to win more as they have upgraded at some positions but OL is still suspect. Add in the fact that the RB situation is still the same or slightly improved and WR is still a question mark I just don't see more. Talk about it more as the season approaches and my outlook may improve but right now? 6-10 or 7-9 and that's optimistic.

I think the team gels up well and goes 9-7, but I wouldnt be surprised to get to 10-6 IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised at this either.  Every few years we have an "upside surprise" and I could see this being that kind of year.  The good news (for once!) is that this time we have a potential FQB in the wings.  So we don't have to endure another Fitzpatrick 10-6 followed by a Fitzpatrick reversion to the mean (as in crappy QB).  This year it might be McCown or Teddy B getting us to 9-10 wins followed by next year Darnold getting his chance.

I picked 7 and 9 for starters. Like i mean worst case scenario. Im also feeling optimistic

It's an optimistic time of the tear for all teams. I went with 8-8. We could have done that last year with a break here or there. We were in so many of those losses.
