Todd Bowles, appearing on ESPN's "Get Up" this morning, gave a progress report on Sam Darnold: "He had great recall from the spring, so that was good. He has some catching up to do, obviously. He's seeing a lot more defense installed than he had in the spring as well, but he's learning from his mistakes and he's got poise in the pocket. But we haven't played any games yet. It's only been a week, but we like what we see thus far, as we do with Teddy (Bridgewater) and Josh (McCown) as well." Bowles hinted he may not make a decision on his starter until after the fourth preseason game. As I've been saying since camp started, Darnold will get a legit shot to win it.

If a qb is consistently posting 4,000 yards, a 90+ rating and 2:1 TD:INT, maybe the defense bears some responsibility for a  losing record. Tannehill is gonna be this generations vinny testaverde and have a late career peak after fins move on

Fins might be waking up enough now not to make a huge mistake of moving on from Tannehill. Which is a shame because I want him out of the division.

What the Jets did in Jacksonville was rare — and not in a good way. It marked the first time since 2004 they lost a game with a turnover margin of +3 of better. They had won their last 25 such games. The 19-point loss was the largest margin of defeat by a team with a +3 or better since the 2007 Dolphins (+4) lost to the Patriots by 21. The Jets became only the fifth team since the 1970 merger to lose by at least 19 with a +3. (Courtesy: ESPN Stats & Info).
