@The Crusher I hate like heck to do this to you but how cold and windy was it at the Vikings game.

My tailgate party of about 50 with 5 grills going had food Blowing off the grill and we couldn't even put up the tents.

You have no clue and weren't at that game.

joewilly12

Then don’t. Now both of you be nice or go outside.

My wife just bought me a new Jamaal Adams green jersey this past Christmas and now they are going to change their uniforms!! Should I return it?

No, they were selling them for 60% off the regular price at Modells to clear out their inventory.  They will never go out of style.

I'm sure I'm probably in the minority with this - but I prefer to enjoy the game in the comfort of my home on my beautiful top of the line TV. I'll typically go to one or two games a season and that is more than enough for me. Between the pain in the ass trip back and forth, possible (likely) drunk obnoxious people to deal with, etc. I am more than happy watching at home.

Anyone that needs to compensate for their small inadequacies by trying to portray themselves as some wealthy elitist on an internet message board -  While simultaneously talking down to, or otherwise degrading anyone who doesn't spend the money that he claims to spend is pretty fu*cking sad. But, everyone is entitled to their opinions. Anyone is allowed to believe that they are a better fan because of the money they give the team... I'm allowed to believe that anyone who would do that is a truly pathetic excuse of person and laugh while reading the sad things they say to try to cover up how worthless they really are. God bless America. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

I also prefer TV for games.  I live in NY and I pretty much never go to games.  It's a huge PITY to get back and forth to the stadium, it's cold, and it's also harder to follow along with the action.  Also, I don't really want to give our owners (who, quite frankly, I dislike) any money.  Some (many?) may disagree here but I don't think it makes me any less of a fan.  Honestly, who cares.

The important thing is that when we're good again, like this year perhaps, I've kept track of the posters who haven't gone to games and who have complained endlessly about those of us who do go to games and their past isn't going away.  If they dare get season tickets or start posting like "I've been here the whole time!" they are going to feel the wrath of the diehard fans.

Bandwagoning has its price.

SAR I

You make this unfun.

This is what happens when a so-called diehard fan from the Giants Stadium era gives up his season tickets the minute Victor Cruz goes 99 yards ending the back-to-back AFC Finalist runs and sending us back to the dark ages.

Not only do they give up their season tickets (putting them in the hands of enemy fans) but they also refuse to buy tickets for a measly $25 to see the Sam Darnold Jets in the middle of a 2-0 run at home (putting them in the hands of enemy fans) on a beautiful October day against the Vikings.

The people complaining about what they see on TV are the problem.  They are what's missing.  Their voices aren't heard.  Their colors aren't seen.  But they blame the good season ticket holders who actually spend the money and buy tickets and show up to 8 games a year.  Blame the good Jets fans and pretend the rest of us won't see their bandwagon cheapskate ways.  Pathetic.

Show up or shut up.

SAR I

Those who stay at home and watch on TV are fans too.  Many have “man caves” and buy a lot of crap to decorate their viewing room with wall to wall Jets stuff that those that go to every game will never need. They may actually spend more than STH do.

Why do you think they are changing things up?  It’s to sell more stuff. People like you and me and the 10,000’s of thousands that go to every game will need new stuff to wear at the game.  I also will need to get some new flags and other new things for the tailgate with the new color scheme.  It’s all about the mighty dollar and we all contribute one way or another.

Cool new concept mock up found on Reddit of the black primary.  I like this one.  This was made with what we've heard in mind.

My 12 year old daughter thinks that is a cool uniform and now wants a new jersey to wear to school so she is the first to get one.

Definitely.

You think a guy eating pretzels in his mom’s basement can be a bigger fan than one who spends $5,000 a year on tickets and spends 8 hours every Sunday going to/from games?

Please.

Sure and you probably also believe the world is flat that's how stupid you sound. You do realize not everyone can afford to go to games right? I'd bet there's some people on this site that would crush you in Jets history trivia who never go to games but watch them all. I'd call them bigger fans than some pretentious douchebag who thinks being able to afford to spend 5 grand on something makes them superior in any way shape or form. Good day trolling sir.

I look forward to a fresh and modern uniform.  All my teams (Yankees, Rangers, Jets) have been wearing nothing but "classics" my whole life outside of a few limited edition alternates.  Just once I'd like one of my teams to create a best-in-class modern uniform.  I have faith in the Jets and Nike.  Fingers crossed.

If you have smartphone / internet access to the tune of $50 a month, you can afford a $15 Jets ticket.

If you have the time to post in a discussion forum 10x a day, you have the time to go to MetLife Stadium and watch a game.

PSL's and season tickets are expensive.  Single game tickets are cheaper than dirt.  There is no excuse for so-called 'diehard' fans to not go to 2-3 games a season.  "Crush me in Jets trivia?"  LOL.  Dungeons and Dragons, anyone?

Am I allowed to be a die hard Jets fan if I don't live close enough to go the games?  Or am I also a second class fan in your mind?

When I lived in the area I have season tix forever.  Big deal.

I now don't miss a game and follow the team religiously.  If you're a fan...you're a fan.

If you are physically out of the NY Metro area, 250+ miles away or more, this tangent doesn't apply to you.

I'm talking about Mr. Five Borough's, Mr. Long Island, Mr. Westchester, and Mr. New Jersey making every excuse in the book to not make the effort to attend games with ticket prices lower than a six-pack of beer.  That's second class.  Third class, in fact.

I'm done with defending myself in this conversation so long as every one else is done taking shots at me.  As for the uniforms, I look forward to buying new gear.  Spending money on authentics and mocking those in counterfeits is always fun.

Fair play, but it’s also worth noting that those of us in replicas also enjoy making fun of those in authentics because they generally match them with Dockers shorts.

But the people who buy knock offs are in the mind set of not caring about your opinion  in the first place. They are more intelligent, for not wasting money on overpriced  sh*t made in the very same buildings as the so called authentics. Copywrite or what ever laws, are such bullsh*t.

Well, I don’t get caught up in costume changes for football players, I love tradition...but this NFL thing is new territory for me, so guess I have to wait till the new gear comes out.

Hopefully, the green won’t be some gawd awful shade that I don’t look good in.  😂

You can always go classic, a nice Mitchell and Ness - Would you go Darnold or another Jets player, past or presented?

No way man I have bought the knock off before and at the time I felt smarter. I Mean I had my teams jersey for game day and could afford it for about the cost of a couple pitchers of beer. It was cool. But overtime I realized damn these suck. Haha they looked like sh*t. If they are made in the same building, it's down the hall on the sh*tter. I bought my very first aunthentic jersey right from the team store last season. It is ******* amazing, unbelievably better. I got Namath because yeah he is the man.

Im telling you right now if you are thinking knockoff to save a couple bucks or you have only had knock offs and don't know what you are missing, just do yourself a favor and save up right now. Yeah pre draft, save your money . When someone reminds you how stupid spendng 100 plus buck on a jersey is, tell them to go tom Brady off and get the hell out of there.

Authentic is awesome, something about thicker material, I don't hate on the knock offs like I said that was me for years, but I highly encourage you to move on up and get the real deal this year, as I remember there was like 3 diff types and the one I got only came in 1 version, for like 100 bucks. I will be getting one for the new Jersey when they come out. Only choice is since I have convinced my self to buy an active player (this is ******* stupid by the way, what if this season they get cut traded, hurt whatever ..think all those bell oitt jerseys...haha what do those guys do-anyway I'm going to probably get darnold) but I'll get the black version.

Spend the money.

I'd rather drive from Buffalo to the Meadowlands than from Long Island. I generally only leave here by train or plane.

They look fake and everyone who sees you in one knows it.  Fonts are wrong, colors are wrong, logos are wrong, it’s obvious. You’re not saving money; you’re just making yourself look stupid.  And cheap.

Stealing money from the very team you supposedly are a diehard fan of for a lousy few bucks to spend on warm beer you fart and piss out?  Pathetic.

Reminder everyone - SAR I has a lot of money.  (In case you've forgotten since reading his most recent post, in which he also mentions it).

But he's not a d-bag for always reminding everyone of it.  He promises!

By the way, he drives a BMV (and a souped-up one at that), in case he hasn't mentioned that in a little while.

If you're going to be honest with me, I'm going to be honest with you, that's all.  The fans who show up to the games do a great job.  We cheer when we're supposed to, we get loud when we're supposed to, we've sat through two years of Geno Smith, two years of Ryan Fitzpatrick, there was a stretch where we won 1 out of 7 home games.  Fans who kept their tickets and stayed loyal through those awful Idzik years and rebuilding years feel good about themselves now.  Can't say the same for those who quit on the team and couldn't even be bothered to spend $20 on Stubhub to show a little loyalty once or twice a season, at least the ones who are called on it.

This is a thread about uniforms.  If you want to discuss disloyal carpetbagging turncoat bandwagon cheapskate Jets poseurs, create a new thread, I'll meet you there.

I’m not really paying attention. This is the same type of conversation the Lovely Mrs Crusher and my three darling daughters have on a daily bases. This color, that color, this stripe, this pattern and on and on and on. I’m just waiting for someone to ask me, “ Don’t I look cute?” So I can answer,”Yea.” Without even looking up as per usual. Also, snacking.

Ok, being your name is Butterfield I did chuckle.

But let’s not attack one another. If this discussion of colors and haberdashery proves to provoke your emotional vigor then go relax and talk football instead. Thanks.

This is advice to all.
