They are innnocent and pure spirits and so it hurts me that Jetsie passed. Dogs are family members and losing one hurts just as much. My thoughts are with you, brother. Been there.. just got this pup just over a yr ago. Took me years to get another after losing another 1. When your ready you should. Wish dogs lived longer. Just about 2 months ago i lost my dear cat Brooklyn, she was only 4 years old, got struck by cancer, in 4 days it was all over. I miss her so much. He was my first dog, and I couldn't believe how painful it was to lose him. It still hasn't completely gone away, but it has gotten better. I'm sure what happened today was devastating, but you did right by her. She's somewhere now, feeling no pain and thinking how lucky she was to share her life with you. Hang in there. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. fltflo Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 Sorry for your loss, worst freaking part of owning any animal. Had to put my Rotty down a few years ago. We were lucky, we have a friend who is a vet assistant and she came over to do it. We gathered the family and all said goodby and she was put down in my lap.
