Jets \ Lions anyone going?

Recommended Posts

I was going to take a bus trip to that game, but flights, hotels and tickets are so cheap it really doesn't make sense. Looking at flying out on Saturday afternoon and flying home on Tuesday early.

Anyone going? Where are you staying?

We can figure out a way to all tailgate together as well. Post in here if you are going to the game, it should be fun.

Hell yes I am going. I live about 90 minutes north of Detroit so it's not a big deal for me to get there. I usually sit in the Lower End Zone on the Brush St side. The Elwood is a great bar that is across from the stadium and I always get there before the gates open to park in the garage right there. Word to the wise though guys, the Tigers are playing the Astros at the same time so it will be very congested, especially if Verlander is on the mound. If no Verlander then it might not be too bad because the Tigers suck and it's a Monday night game in a lost season for them. Anyway I'm psyched for the game. Hope to tailgate some with you guys

I'd like to go!  If anyone has a ticket, I would buy it and meet you there.  I am about 1 1/2 hours from the stadium.  Just have to book work off!

No. Nobody is going Maxman.

Is this confirmed? Nobody? Link?

Will they still play the game?

If the Jets play the Lions in the woods and nobody sees it, did it really happen?

I just booked my flight. Going with my son on Saturday night, flying home early Tuesday.

Any hotel recommendations in the area?

Sounds like a lot of Jets fans are sitting in section 131. I am going to try and get near them.

I can't really recommend any hotels but take their shuttle to and from the stadium. Detroit is no place to be walking around at night especially if you had a few. Believe me Max it's true. Here's a little story from a few years ago. I met my sister and her husband down in Detroit when the Yanks came in for a weekend series. The hotel we stayed at insisted we take their shuttle "for our own safety" as they put it. We were staying not more than 5 minutes from the stadium. It was pretty cool because we took their shuttle to and from the stadium, to the Casinos and it cost nothing. Things have gotten a little better around the Stadium area but since it's a night game just be cautious. Detroit is no joke guys even though you're from NY and can handle yourself just use common sense.

My preference is to sit in sections 135-140. Easy in and easy out. For some reason the way the stadium is up the end zone seats give you the greatest viewing experience. I have gone to many games at Ford Field and found out that the end zone seats are just as good or better for the price. Just FYI.

I was at the 2010 game in Detroit when the Jets won in OT.  The Jets were lousy, terrible, for 56 minutes except for one play... and wound up winning anyway.

Lions fans are a funny bunch.  They cheer for their team, but at the same time they are basically numb to the losing.  Jets fans would have been crushed to lose like that.  They walked out of the stadium like nothing had happened.

I was at that game as well. Had some fun at the Lions Fans expense but it was all good. Lions Fans are so accustomed to losing I think they expect it. It's when they win they are surprised. My wife and I go to every home opener and I notice that even when they win they don't expect much for the rest of the season. Ford Field is a great place to see a game but I prefer games outdoors. One of the funniest things for me was how bad the Lions cheerleaders were. All out of Synch and it was just plain funny. I joked with my wife they should have setup stripper poles and would have gotten a better effect. Anyway I hope to have a great time and will be wearing my White Darnold jersey. Hope to see some of you guys there and tip a few with you. BTW they make an awesome Bloody Mary complete with a Slim Jim straw. I always start out with one and then switch to Budweiser. Only buy beers at the Bud stands because the others are a rip-off at the regular concession stands.

There's a section for tailgating that we'll be in, although only two of us actually have tickets to the game. The other three will be tailgating. Not sure where the tailgating section is since I've been there before, but we'll have the traditional J-E-T-S sign above the RV.

All of a sudden this is back on the radar for me.  Have two friends possibly going.  I was at 0% yesterday but this is now looking like 50/50.  Checking NFL Ticket Exchange shows several good seating options at good prices too.  A little surprised by this.....

Check out Section 131.

It's been a dream of mine for quite some time to get to downtown Detroit but not gonna happen this year. I am going to the dolphin game on Nov 4th if you want to warn BP to hide from me again. Hope all is well with you Max

I just purchased my tickets. Checkout vivid seats com. They are cheaper than the ticket exchange and stubhub. I am in section 138. Endzone by the goalpost. Only paid 117.00 a ticket including fees and insurance. You will need a smartphone to access the tickets though.

Haha, is that the game Suh had to kick an extra point or something like that and missed? And the jets fumbled the ball that game like 7 times and were lucky enough to only lose 1-2 of them, if my memory serves me correct. Good times good times.

Anyone planning to meet up in a specific bar before the game? I know the game starts at 7pm. What would be an ideal time to be around the area probably 4pm. Just wondering. I will have a lot of down time that day. Coming from the West coast I don’t want to get burned out quickly.

I don't know my exact plans yet but I know there is a large group of Jets fans, sounds like 40 or 50 that is going to: http://hockeytowncafe.com/ on Monday before the game.

I will tweet it out through @JetNation so we can get more Jets fans there as well.

I saw that email, I will probably end up going into the stadium really early. Might stop by the party that the Gotham City Crew guys are throwing, they seem cool.
