BroadwayRay
Blame the defense all you want, and they do deserve grief for the last series, but the unit played well up until then. The receiving corps however was screwing things up at every turn: 1) Anderson fumbles the ball away after a catch, putting a stake in the heart of the offense as they’re driving up the field. Results in Miami touchdown 2) Herndon with a lack of situational awareness on two catches at the end of the first half, costing us a touchdown. 3) Herndon killing another drive that had momentum by dropping a simple catch on 3rd and 10. 4) Pryor failing to run out his route at full speed in the end zone, resulting in an interception. The biggest lapse in the game, perhaps. 5) Pryor dropping a pass that hit him in both hands on 3rd and 19. It would have been a first down in the red zone. Thats five big bloopers by receivers, three of which either cost us a touchdown or resulted in a touchdown by Miami.Hopefully Herndon will get better, but what’s Pryor’s excuse? Larz
Yes they did but the last play of the half you can't throw the ball into the field of play that had to be in the end zone or the seats
RESNewYork
I think the receivers also bailed Darnold out today. A lot of high passes today. Those are the ones if not caught, get tipped and picked. Robbie broke up an INT as well. Timing looks off but it's early.
chirorob
Just now, Larz said: Yes they did but the last play of the half you can't throw the ball into the field of play that had to be in the end zone or the seats I don't blame that one on the receiver. The whole offense played poorly. Sam threw a couple of passes that could have been picked off. Back to back off sides by the o line. Dropped passes and a fumble. The play at the end of the first half should never have been called. Should have taken the FG with just 10 seconds left and get the ball back in second half and cut the lead in half. Then at the end of the game it would have been a five point game and maybe they don't call an all out blitz on 3rd and 19. I don't like Pryor. Why is Kearse not out there? k-met57
I thought Sam played ok, certainly did not lose the game for us. I also think if the jets got the ball back at the end Sam had a good shot at taking us down the field.

Should have taken the 3 sure points with just 10 ticks left and no time outs, which is just another of Bowles failings...wasting time outs and not having one at a critical juncture. Jets723
I give props to Pryor. He took responsibility for the Second pick. He has skills he also has a tendency to be lackidasical. Hopefully he learns from that. Proves he also likes Sam otherwise i doubt he would be honest
BroadwayRay
All things considered—the receiver mistakes, the field position, the inconsistent pass protection, the pass interference no-call—I think it was an encouraging performance by Darnold. kdels62
It’s an offense that is learning and trying to gel. Darnold threw 2 picks and regardless of what Pryor says, Darnold has to be more aware and throw a better ball into Pryor’s body. Darnold’s first pick gave the Dolphins life. Everybody did their part to lose that game and they lost it because when the defense made a good play Darnold ruined it and when Darnold made a play the o-line ruined it and it was a terrible cycle.
