FIRE MACCAGNAN!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Macc was not fired.

There is no chance he will be fired before next offseason, 2020.

Its probably time to lock down this thread now.

We can always start a new one for the 2020 Offseason as needed.

Justified or not, demanding he be fired now is pointless windwill jousting. Its over. He survived.

Disagree if all the HC candidates interview and have issues with MM the Jets have no choice but to fire him.

Never say never this is the NY Jets where stranger things have happened.

I don’t know about locking it. It shouldn’t have much activity on its own and compared to some of the terrible threads here recently, I don’t see the harm.

Besides, I imagine there will be some questionable things that happen between now and the new season and this should be the venting place instead of everywhere else (that’s probably inevitable).

Either way, whatever happens happens. It served its purpose of visibility and nothing more.

There is no chance this happens, tbqh, but sure.

It's not that I'm a fan of Macc, I would have forced him as most know.

Just wonder the point of a fire thread for a guy who has no chance whatsoever of being fired now for a year.

Thread shows our dislike for him and that we aren't giving up.

BUMP

Have we given up?

We are stuck with him. This offseason would be tough for even the best GMs in the league. Even if Mac does better than normal and an attainable/realistic “good job”, too many things are going against him right out of the gate.

He’s set up for failure but he’s the one who set us up so I don’t feel bad for him. I feel bad for the team/fans.

Even with a clean slate, you can’t expect too much this offseason. It’s just not realistic for any GM. I hope we have some luck this year.

I'm actually surprised the banner guys haven't come out in full force to try and Mac fired? This team had 100 million in cap space and you're going to trust Mac with spending it wisely? After Johnson? Wilkerson? Revis? You REALLY want to trust this guy and feel COMFORTABLE with the decision???

Reminds me of the guy at the casino that wants to stand on 16 against a face card in blackjack.

Keep the heat on expose him beat writers read this forum.

Lol yeah right. They were making excuses for him when it was obvious to fire him in each of the last 2 offseasons.

Right after hiring a HC who'd be a package deal guarantees we won't attract a single GM replacement. I'll say this, he convinced Chris Johnson to allow him the maximum job protection and Johnson was dumb enough to fall for it.

They want access and crucifying a GM who's guaranteed through 2020 at the absolute minimum (and likely 2021 as the realistic minimum) isn't the way to keep getting it.

i don't know if mac convinced woody/chris as much as just not taking responsibility for the players he wasn't getting.  it was plenty clear from a couple of season's ago that bowles wasn't getting the job done.  it was far too easy to blame bowles for not "developing" the players mac was getting.  and bowles fell right into it because he really didn't seem to be developing anyone.  the noted discipline issues were just icing on the cake.
