Isn't it WAAAAY too early to say that?  We're not going to be able to tell much from this year.  Darnold is a very young rookie QB.  Goff didn't look good year 1.  How about Elway, Peyton, etc?

The same was said about Geno and Sanchez.

The only thing Darnold has going for him is his age and the fact that Todd Bowles is the worst football coach in America.

Didn't Darnold have to play a couple of games with his two only good wideouts injured? Not to mention he has Bates as a coordinator who is obviously much much worse than John Morton. Just look at the difference between how Mccown looked last year to this year.

That's a silly comparison.  Geno and Sanchez are completely unrelated to Darnold.

"... if he wouldn't had that really good game on national TV against the Lions early on in the season, people would be talking about him being a bust, because he really hasn't played well since then."

As far as I'm concerned, you lose all credibility when you say nonsense like this. Talking about ANY player being a bust halfway through their rookie season is ridiculous. That's the type of nonsense that you get from over emotional fans. I don't care if Sam played horrible in the Lions game or if Baker lit it up the entire season the way he did when he came in against the Jets - You cannot make a definitive bust or stud proclamation off of a rookie season, let alone half a rookie season! ???

You can see things that encourage you and you can see things that worry you. You can go into the offseason feeling optimistic about what you saw this year, or you might have a list of stuff that you begin to pray they show improvement on in year 2... But realistically, anointing any QB bust or savior after their first season (or in our case, their first game) is idiotic!

Lol are you all actually getting your panties in a bunch over Joe f##cking Thomas?

The guy doesn’t know anything about good QB play. He’s not a scout, he’s not a talent evaluator of any sort and he’s never protected a QB’s blind side that has even been anything close to competent at his job.

Dont waste your emotion and energy over this guy. Only time will tell what Darnold is and it sure ain’t now! Not in Week 11 in his rookie year. Not under the circumstances he’s under.

It’s not realistic. So to take a page out of @RutgersJetFan‘s book.....take a chill pill.

As far as you go, we know you agree with him. You don’t have to keep flaunting it around that you think Sam is a bust already. It’s crystal clear. You can shut up about it now if you’d like.

This is misleading title. Anyway he played a decade with the Browns, he's the last person to take QB advice from.

Anyway calling him a bust already is ludicrous. The only way that happens is freak injury or complete dysfunction of the team at David Carr levels. He's shown the flashes, and that's enough to build off

I mean come on the guy was regarded as the best prospect since Luck. Virtually every talent evaluator, ex QB, and team had him as far and away the top QB in the draft.

But it doesn't bode well for Sam that Macc right and truly sucks at identifying talent.

So when is Nick Mangold going to come on and say Baker Mayfield is a bust and if it wasn’t for that Atlanta Flacons game, they would be calling him a bust sooner.

Oh, he won’t. Because he’s not a dumbass lol.

I’m going to let you fellow miserable QB starved fans in on a secret..it takes 4 years to find out if a QB is going to be great.

Dak was beast in year one, RG3 was a beast in year one. Derek Carr was good until .. now.

Peyton Manning wasn’t, Aikman wasnt. Trubisky wasn’t, Goff wasnt.

It takes 4 years to see where you are.

It shows Joe Thomas’s opinion is as good as anyone on TV.

By next year at this time everyone on this board will see the truth about Samchez.

Are you trying to say Trent Dilfer’s opinion holds weight LOL? Is that what you are trying to tell me?

The guy basically IS Sanchez. If Mark would of won a super bowl one of those two times then him and Trent would of had the exact same career in some regard.

You aren’t helping your argument right now. You are weakening it.

My point is that Romo and Aikmans opinions are no better than Thomas
