Tableau Data for more detail

I took a break from doing this, due to Darnold's injury and the general malaise of the Jets season. However, wantedto update to see how all the rookie QBs compare now

Through week 13 Sam Darnold is now right in the middle of the pack of the 2018 rookies with Josh Rosen and Josh Allen. Darnold has a 68.3 QB Rating, Rosen, 68.2, and Allen 66.4. Baker Mayfield, despite a bad week, remains the clear leader of 2018 rookies.

2018 NFL rookies compared:

  • Baker Mayfield - 224-354 63.3%, 2,639 Yards 18 TDs 10 INTs (12 total turnovers), 7.5 YPA, 8.9 Air yards per throw, 91.1 QB Rating (Ranked 7th of 43 Rookie QBs between Cody Kessler and Mike Glennon)
  • Lamar Jackson 46-77 59.7% 540 Yards, 2TDs 3 INTs (4 Total Turnovers), 7.0 YPA, 8.8 Air Yards per throw - 83 Rushes 402 Yards, 3 TDs (26th of 43 rookie QBs between Derek Carr and Nick Foles)
  • Sam Darnold - 159-289 55.0%, 1,934 Yards 11 TDs 14 INTs (15 total turnovers), 6.7 YPA, 9.0 Air Yards per throw, 68.3 QB Rating (Ranked 31st of 43 Rookie QBs between CJ Bethard and Blaine Gabbert)
  • Josh Rosen - 148-273 54.2%, 1,670 Yards 10 TDs 11 INTs (13 Total Turnovers), 6.1 YPA, 8.0 Air Yards per throw, 68.2 QB Rating (Ranked 32nd of 43 Rookie QBs between CJ Bethard and Blaine Gabbert)
  • Josh Allen - 101-191 52.9% 1,223 Yards 5 TDs 7 INTs (8 Total Turnovers) 6.4 YPA, 11.5 Air Yards per throw - 57 rushes 389 yards 4 TDs, 66.2 QB Rating (Ranked 33rdd of 43 Rookie QBs between CJ Bethard and Blaine Gabbert)

This comparison of all rookie QBs of the past 10 years, will continue to update all season. It's data and basic Tableau bar chart that can be sorted by season, week, quarter, and down/distance, you can also filter out QBs based on how many passes

Josh Allen has the highest Air Yards Per Throw of any rookie QB in the last decade (how long the throw is, regardless of what happens after the ball is caught, or not).

Allen, Rosen, and Darnold are so close in QB rating that they actually are current 31st, 32nd, and 33rd among eligible rookie QBs (that number was dropped to 75 passing attempts to include Lamar Jackson)

I assume you meant Yards per Completion?
