NYDreamer
Playing at Met Life makes sense considering Vince McMahon is bringing Wrestle Mania there this Spring. It's a smart move if you look at as a Public Relations and Advertising standpoint. You capture a future potential fan base in the building they will play in. Dunnie
Fantasy Football made the league unstoppable and ruined the sport in one breath. NFL significantly more wussified than last time XFL tried it. Might have better luck his time. But NFL can never be defeated, fantasy Football has turned it into an indelible part of culture beyond just a few hours on sundays.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

I have no idea why they think this is going to work again. That new AAF league has the right idea. Small market cities that don't already have NFL teams, but still have a good football culture. And most importantly no cities that have sub zero temps in Feb. I went to one of the night games in mid-February. We made it to halftime and left. Froze our butts off, and the game sucked. I agree about the AAF. They're playing it smarter. This new version of the XFL is going to end up exactly like the previous version.

bitonti
the genius of the XFL is it's scheduled to launch right around the new CBA agreement aka the possible looming 2021 players strike the Franchise players will be fine but there's a scenario where all the paycheck to paycheck guys will play in the XFL

We'll see how this turns out. If the NFL is on strike, will people miss football so badly that they'll turn to the XFL in the middle of winter? I'd guess no. As ratings (for all sports aside from NBA) continue to decline, the NFL would be insane to strike right now. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but I don't think they'd recover like they have in the past. I don't remember much either except that it was a comeback win against Jim Drunken-Miller. The original idea of Arena football was to fill basketball/hockey venues that were empty off-season. They did tons of things to hype it for kids, like using horrible balls that they could keep when they made it to the stands. They have had varying levels of success. 19 hours ago, TuscanyTile2 said: How much are they charging for PSLs?
