No matter how good Adams becomes, if Sam Darnold doesn’t turn into the franchise QB, Adams will be a constant reminder of what could have been.

Regardless of how Darnold turns out Adams was still the wrong pick. The Jets had two franchise QBs staring them in the face and they made the decision to draft a safety instead. As a result they were forced to trade three second round picks the following year to draft Darnold.

Adams probably will turn out to be the best player the Jets drafted since Revis and it still will go down as one of the worst picks in franchise history.

This doesn’t make any type of sense.

Adams could become a great player and still be the wrong the pick. That is my point.

Passing on a QB staring you in the face when your depth chart consisted of Josh McCown, Bryce Petty, and Christian Hackenberg was NOT a smart decision.

Your point could of been made without using such ridiculous hyperbole. Regardless, the 2017 prospect wouldn’t prosper in NY like they did in their current environments. It’s one of the many reasons why we continue to suck while teams that sucked once upon a time have now made a respectable brand out of themselves.

You can continue to say that a QB was staring us right in the face but we all thought 2018 was the year to get one and that’s what we did.

What if Adams is a great player, and a qb that the Jets pick later is a better qb than one they could have picked in Adsams' spot, and the Jets win the SB.

is it a bad pick then?

Mahomes and Watson are both franchise QBs. The value of a franchise QB is far greater than a safety which is why it was and always be a bad pick.

The only way the Adams pick could have looked good is if Mahomes and Watson busted and Adams became a hall of fame type player.

Would they be the same players in NY?

I keep saying this about Jamal. You can’t let the fact that you disagreed with picking him at 6 cloud your judgement on if he has become an elite player. Those are two separate entities

Hate the pick but whatever you do don't hate the player. Respect his game! HALLELUJAH! I SEE THE LIGHT!
