Sams Saturday audition will draw hopeful Directors

There is nothing worse in the NFL than trying to win games without a QB. Whoever the Head Coaching hopefuls are that are looking for their next gig got a good look at the best 21 year old QB in the league (ok, he's the only 21 year old QB in the league).

Jets are must watch TV for Head Coaching want to bes & guys like McCarthy. The Jets weren't playing the Arizona Cardinals today. The future is bright here because of #14. He made play after play & looked calm doing it. Imagine him at 23 years old! Baker who?

Yes and they are in Baltimore and Arizona. If you are a coach that wants to be an all time great, you come here. The challenge is big, and the person that gets it right will be a made man. In NY.

Here is a key to Arizona. Great.

Here is a key to NY. BOOM.

The thread is a good one. Darnold is legit. He gives this franchise a chance at landing a real leader. This is exciting stuff.

Exactly surround Sam Darnold with some decent players and this team wins games and plays football past the regular season.

This idea being floated around by some that prospective coaches don't want to come here is absurd.  Darnold and Adams, 116 Million in cap space, state of the art facilities, a respected GM who has shown a willingness to try and supply what the HC is asking for...

It's one of, if not THE most attractive destination.

ME as a super fan.

The Jets have everything a brilliant head coach could want.

Your obviously not a Jet fan & just a Troll with that retort. Sam made more great throws in todays game than those 2 have thrown all year!

He has also made some throws this year that neither Pennington nor Sanchez could make in their entire careers, but forget those 2 they’re not in the same league with a Darnold.  There are many QBs in the league today who also could not make those throws.

You are now starting to see why Tony Romo said before Darnold played one down that counted that he thinks Darnold will not be just a Top 5 QB in the NFL, but #1 in a few years, “the league’s new Peyton Manning”...and he should be if he gets the Reading part down.  He is hands down a way better athlete than Manning was and he has a more powerful arm.

He almost single handedly took down one of the best teams in the league in Houston today, carrying the garbage squad aka the 2018 NY Jets on his back almost over the finish line, and actually should have if his horrific HC’s D had not collapsed in the final minutes as per usual when that situation arises.

Um....Darnold is better.
Darnold has the most upside probably some coaches like a dual threat player and might lean towards Jackson and some might be turned off by the interceptions and look at rosen. Darnold has shown flashed of good things but he still has a long road ahead of him to prove he is what people thought he would be

Darnold just spread the ball around to 9 different Jags ala Brady in 2001, except even Brady had better skill players around him like Troy Brown. I'm not saying he's going to be Tom Brady, I'm saying you get an offensive coach that can stick with a system (Sean Payton type), and surround Sam with guys that make people miss (did we have anyone break a tackle yesterday or juke past someone?) and in 2/3 years he'll make it look easy.

He had that one play where he had to jump out of Watts dive & that forced him to take his eyes off from downfield. He had it open to throw but tried to run. He had 1 other play to the left where he threw to the long WR & the underneath was wide open. But when he gets more experience that sh*ts gonna be natural without even thinking. We need great coaching to match up with this kids skill set!

It's not even just the lack of talent (and they are seriously lacking talent)  Every time they got any momentum you would get a false start, stupid illegal block in the back , dropped balls or dumb play call.

It was really like Sam vs Jets and Titans...

Man Burleson was ruining the telecast but when he actually used the term "IDIOTIC PENALTIES", I laughed my azz off! Mooch got a good look at a horrible coaching staff yesterday! If they knew anything about our entire season they would know we get killer penalties EVERY FREAKING GAME!

I think Sam is really starting to get it. His poise at his age is just so impressive. So is his ability to shake off mistakes and he just keeps coming at you. Love that in him. Sam is the real deal and will be a force for years to come in this league. Now get him some talent around him and a Coach with balls. Then sit back and enjoy the show.

Describe the short term and long term ownership situation

If McCarthy likes McKenzie, the best way to make this work would be to pair them going forward.

Honestly, if they can work together they can keep the current structure, although I would prefer the coach reporting to McKenzie.

This would cost the Johnsons a lot of money to get rid of both Mac and Bowles with 2 years left on their contracts, plus what the new GM and Coach would cost, but they deserve it.

Bring in a good DC and these team competes and rocks MetLife Stadium for the next 10 years.

If a Harbaugh (if available) or McCarthy refuse to come here, it is because the ownership is viewed as being unworkable.

Mac can’t pick players.  Don’t tell me he is getting better.  He did get the QB right-Mayfield, Darnold or even Barkley were working at 3.  That was a great trade.

Nathan Shepherd?  Trumaine Johnson?  Maye, Stewart, Hansen, Leggett over the players passed over?  He needs to go.
